Not bad at all,

Ok remember this review is written on the old school kung fu movie scale.
Basically there's a cart driver who steals money from bandits to buy his girlfriend out of prostitution. A pretty unique plot for this genre. The fighting in this movie is great, and Angela Mao, as always, is a joy to watch. Lo Lieh is the quintessential kungfu villain. Worth checking out if you're a fan of this genre.

One of Wong Tao's best,

This review is from: Battle of Shaolin (DVD)
Don Wong Tao stars as a carriage driver who is in love with a prostitute. He needs $120 to buy her out of the brothel, so he decides to accept an offer to rob some silver. Now he has a bunch of bandits after him including Phillip Ko fei and Angela Mao Ying. Also after him is a corrupt government official played by Lo Lieh. This movie is a bit darker than most and has a fantastic finish.
The fighting is above average, and Lo Lieh is much better in the action department than he usually is. He uses a really cool weapon that is a chain with a handcuff type thing on the end that can lock onto people's neck, arms and legs. Also starring is Man Kong Lung and Wong Hap and they look good in their fight scenes. 3.5/5 The Crash DVD has a decent widescreen print and the English dub sounds good.

Quite a good story with the wonderful Angela Mao. Fairly good Widescreen 2.35 print, though Print quality is from a scratched but servicable print, plus where else are you going to get this little gem. Only 5 more Angela Mao films to get. |
