very detailed and informative book, June 25, 2007
This review is from: The Battle of Zama (Hardcover)
I can't figure out why the person who reviewd this book in 2004 thought it was not detailed enough. Actually it is very detailed for a book written for young people. the author describes all the major events of trhe war itself (the second Punic war) and then goes into lots of detail about the battle, including the meeting between the opposing comanders just before the start of the battle. I recomend the book highly. If you are into ancient Rome, especialy the Roman army, you should check out the author's other books on Rome, including his one volume encylopedea of rome.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Battle of Zama (Hardcover)
This book did not have many details about what I was looking for. It did not explain much of what really happened during some of the events and was sort of vague. I did like the format the book was set up in because it was easy to navigate
