Buy it. Play Battlelord mode with four teams, preferably on the Las Vegas map. That's about all you'd do anyway. Don't bother with the singleplayer, it's garbage. I didn't bother finishing it. I played the first five or six levels, I'd guess, and it was so easy and the story was so retarded that I just didn't care anymore. The multiplayer is where it's at. Totally intense. You play as different factions, each one with a slightly different tank set(there are only three kinds of tank--Goliath, the generic kind, and a super fast little one w/ only machine guns, the tankset just determines how many of each you'll get...some are only goliaths or the little ones, and things like that). Each faction also has a special starting weapon. Guided missiles(which are VERY good against base defenses since you don't have to go in there and get pelted) cloaking, shields, swarm missiles, etc.

So, yeah, the multiplayer is simply amazing and the game is definitely cheap enough by now that if you see it you should buy it without question. Don't worry about the graphics. You won't notice when you're dodging guided missiles, goliath tanks, and mines trying to get the queenlord back to your base so you can win the round.

Also, if you do get it, you might consider setting the control setup to DRIVER because the default control setup is kinda deplorable.

This is the best game EVER!!! It rules!!!the graphics are great the gameplay is great and so is every mode in the game. my favorite thing about the game is you get to blow up citys and th muti-player mode is great because its fun to blow up your friends!!!!BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a good game, but can get boring after awhile, even in multiplayer. I like 3DO, and I really want BattleTanx:Global Assault and Army Men:Sarges Heroes. I'd recommend to people who've played in first and then want to buy it, unlike me.

Although most would refer to this as a shoot 'em up game it's really more of a strategy game because you must protect ally tanks until the get to enemy bases so they can assist and fortify you're base with gun buddies(also known as auto fire gun inplacements) and mine fields as well protecting the primary defenses(a goliath tank and 2 or more extra large gun buddies) plus you can take control of you're bases goliath tank and even take it off it's rail!

This game is absolutely the most ferocious and high paced game for the N64 so far. Combines interesting Campaign (1 player) mode and 3 other modes of gameplay for an exciting blow-everything-you-see-game! Multi-player is great! Four players can go at it, or three, two, or even one! Optional AI can be set to fight against you or with you! Definately on of the fun, and funniest muti-player games since Goldneye!!!

The multiplayer in Battletanx is great. The levels are big, and some even allow for some strategy. The weapons are cool, there's different game types, and it's four player.

Sadly, single player is no fun. I think it's boring.

So basically, Battletanx is a fun "party game," but nothing more. Just wait for a friend to buy it. You're not going to need it by yourself

I think this game is not bad, but then again it's not that good either. All you do is press the Z button, and then every once in a while you use a special weapon. Also, there's no other way to say it, but the graphics SUCK!!! There's way to much fog, what you can see is blurry. This also effects the multiplayer. The only thing that saves this game are the many play modes and the multiplayer action, and the awesome commercial. A great weekend rental, but certainly not a buy.

What's going on here? Can you people read the sticker in the box? It clearly says: One of the best multiplayer games for n64. Ok, I agree, the story line is very stupid, so are the levels where basicalli you keep pressing the Z button and move tha control stick forward. Thats about it. But, you have to admit the the 4-player option its really good. I keep enjoying it.
