This is an outstanding guide to Battlefield 2142, especially for new players. The main reason I bought this book is that I was looking for all of the fundamental game information that this book contains (which should have shipped with the game or been available on the game's website, but is not). In this sense, this game guide is very much the "missing manual" to Battlefield 2142.

Contrary to the first reviewer's assertion, this book contains a great deal of very basic information that is either not on the web or is buried in a haystack of game forum posts (which one would otherwise have to learn in-game via trial-and-error).

I've played all of the games in the Battlefield series, and I would highly recommend this book especially to any new players.

In addition, this game guide includes very attractive and useful full color graphics throughout, so it's a pleasure to browse through in your downtime.

This is a good book for beginning players, literally the missing manual that should have been shipped with the game. BF2142 is multiple layers of gaming, strategy and scenarios that require an immediate understanding of a complex game.

If you don't have a good understanding of:
-Strength and weakness of roles and machines
-How your play affects others
-How you can prevent a disaster or cause one
-Many Complexities programmed into this game

This will cause you:
-A bump into a million walls learning experience
-Chastisement from other players
-Slower ascent up in ranks/unlocks
-A horrid Kill/Death ratio
-A weak understanding of what comes next

If you play this game, this book is like BF2142 for Dummies I and II. A good solid understanding of the game, the soldiers, weapons and machines. Now go forth and frag!!

When you play a game like Battlefield 2142 you need to know way more then the stock manual provides in order to have a competitive edge. This guide has all the pertinent info if you want to do just that. Yes you might be able to go out on the internet and tirelessly visit multiple websites for hints and strategies, but if you are like me you want to know everything you need to know now!

This guide details troop kit upgrade paths to include stats of point damage for each weapon and any necessary keys to use for kit equipment unlocks. The beta testers provide some valuable suggestions on how to use and defend against all vehicles. Air Craft is still hard to maneuver though and I recommend you practice on your own before pissing off your team mates on a ranked server!

Team play has been enhanced greatly in Battlefield 2142 and the guide explains how it works and the point benefits your squad can earn. If you can hook up with the right soldiers you will mow down the competition and get promoted often! The game uses VOIP and the guide goes over how to communicate with your war buddies. Talking versus typing is no doubt the edge on a team!

Regardless of the game knowing the maps and key locations is half-the-battle. The guide display's each map, points out equipment spawn points, and provides valuable tactics for each.

This guide has much more then I have targeted. Just remember, if your soldier's kill was administered by BigMacDaddy (me) you can do one of two things, join my side or be prepared to re-spawn over and over again...I want your dog tags!

To increase playability, game designers are basically selling games without the manuals leaving gamers can figure it out these complex worlds by themselves. Considering that I play games to win (just like a chess player plays chess to win), not knowing how weapons work or the differences between one mine and another is a big disadvantage. So I purchased this book along with the game, and I was not disappointed.

Not only will you get to know the advantages and disadvantages of the different vehicles and weapons, but you will also get insight as to the most effective strategies to each of the Battlefield 2142 maps. And even though I found some small ommisions, like the fact that you can only choose from the unlock tree vertically, you will probably have more information that you will ever need.

So if you want to become a dangerous gamer in Battlefield 2142, then you need this book.

VERY Useful guide, if you want to know all the little secrets of my favorite game as of now. Give you the damage ratio and weakness's of each weapon. The in and outs of each kit equipment item. Strategies for each map, (if you can but get the people to squad up and follow you as a commander). Good Guide if you want to master the best FPS out as of yet, which replaced Battlefield 2, which in and of its self is a fantastic game. it is Not necessary, but a very useful guide. Now all I need is for the wife and kids to give me time to play ;-)

Battlefield 2142 Prima Guide is the "Must Have Guide!" It explain alot
of what to expect from the game. I am glad I made the purchase.

The book helps some....nothing you can't find out on the net or yourself by playing

it is useful for new gamers to start this game, but it isn't much helpful for guys who already played it for a while.
But you can get few hints.

It lets you know a lot and really how good some guns are. It provides some good hints. Other then that it is just what you would expect from a strategy guide.

I bought this game and BAM reg code already in use. Not the sellers fault I guess a one time only registration code deal so now I have a paper weight. EA had no response to this no "lets get you a new reg code and support our customer" it was straight" that code is registered to someone else nothing we can do sorry" EA is the worst at customer service I am not buying another one from them. I didnt even want to rate it.
