Useful leadership lessons., September 21, 1997

This review is from: From Battlefield to Bottom Line: The Leadership Lessons of Ulysses S. Grant (Paperback)
Ulysses S. Grant's overwhelming manpower advantage and material superiority have given him the reputation of a blunt instrument, bludgeoning the South into submission.
While there is enough truth in this view to keep it alive, it overlooks
Grant's uncommon common sense, leadership skills, and, finally, the hardearned respect of men who had scorned him.
The present work is a companion to Holton's "From Battlefield to Boardroom", a study of Robert E. Lee's leadership which is also highly recommended.
