5.0 out of 5 stars Changing My Life Daily, July 28, 2006
This is, by far,the best devotional that I have ever read. In fact I'm reading it daily the second time around and will continue to read over and over again. Every reading applies to that day and that day's trials. After reading it, I just rest in the Lord and meditate on the message. It gives me a peace and serenity that only the Lord's Word can provide. It's an imazing book that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to grow and have a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

5.0 out of 5 stars Battlefield of the Mind Devotional, March 23, 2006
This review is from: Battlefield of the Mind Devotional: 100 Insights That Will Change the Way You Think (Hardcover)
I bought this devotional for my husband who requested the book under the same title - what we have found is that the devotional reinforces the excellent information from the book and helps you apply it in little doses - it is broken down in daily readings that really bring to heart the lessons you can apply that day and truly live the wisdom in the book.

This is a wonderful devotional. I let the book fall open and what ever passage I read that day seems to speak to the exact worries, concerns or questions I am facing at present. The passages are short and not laden with a ton of difficult to understand Bible references, yet inevitably, it brings me closer to God. I highly recommend this book. It is simply written but very powerful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Joyce Meyer, Battlefield of the Mind, A must have, December 1, 2007
I received a teaching once that basicly said that when you get right down to it the Devil really only has two methods for tempting us: 1. Pressure 2. Pleasure. The Devil has three maxims which allows him to pull this off : 1. You (your own thoughts, bad habits, exc.) 2. The environment (Government, religious oppression, the systems of the world, exc.), and 3. Other people. Joyce Meyer's "Battlefield Of The Mind" is mostly geared at the one maxim each of us have the most control over (You, yourself, your thoughts, and YOU).

Joyce masterfully explains how that old Advesary The Devil works by waiting for the right moment (he`s not only a parasite but he`s also a predator). He waits to see where your weak, when your most vulnerable moment is, and he waits for that moment to attack. The Bible says "Resist the Devil and he will flee from you." Perfect example is Luke chapter 6, The devil waits for Jesus to be 40 days and nights in the wilderness before he attacks. He didn't come the first day to attack him when our Lord was at his strongest. Oh no, our advesary doesn't play fair; he bides his time and waits for your weakest moment and attacks. Jesus resisted him and the devil fled from him (for awhile). Best thing is we have victory through our risen Lord this very day if we claim it. Joyce does a great job of illustrating this in this book(though I don't know if she used the Luke example I used above or not).

I really got a lot of insight from this book. For example, one of the concepts in the book (in my own words) was "what comes out of your mouth had to originate in your brain." Sounds simple enough , but Joyce had a masterful way of describing every thought we commonly have today and referring it to biblical passages. About half way through the book I began to realize that the grumbling, griping, complaining, and various other human emotions and thoughts I have are not uncommon to our time. The children of Israel went through these same emotions and they are all recorded in Gods Word. I used to ponder how stupid these people must have been, but now I can see myself in them. It really was a humbling experience! Many of us make the same mistake over and over again and ask God, "Why don't you do something?" Truth is God has always been willing to help us. We are the ones who get in God's way by not bringing our thoughts into the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Read this book and find out how you can change and train your mind to shut the door on The Devil and how to allow God to do what he's always been willing to do. BLESS YOU!!!

Hebrews 13:5b "for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

P.S. This book comes in many formats. There's the traditional version, teen version, devotional version, exc. It doesn't matter which one you use. Just read one of them. You will be blessed.

I do not own other Joyce Meyer books, so it wasn't like I bought this book just because of the author. It is a great devotional based on her best selling book, Battlefield of the Mind. I like the devotional set up because it is designed to read 2-3 pages a day and that is just right for this working mom. The topic is powerful, covering just what the title says, the battle in our minds and not letting satan win the battle. I have already bought a few more copies of this book for people I know who would benefit from it. I highly recommend this book.

This review is from: Battlefield of the Mind Devotional: 100 Insights That Will Change the Way You Think (Hardcover)
This book has really helped to change my life.I read it every morning and God uses it to help keep me on the right track.I have learned that renewing your mind is the key to successful Christian living.Unless you change the way your brain workes and its thought patterns and process then you wont ever get the breakthrough your looking for and you will win a little while but then you will end up back in the same mess you came from wondering why you keep ending up back there again. This book will help you keep the renewing of your mind first and formost in your life if you read it every morning before you leave your front door to start your day.It helps you to be able to recognize wrong thought patterns or thoughts that will end up leading you down a wrong path as soon as that thought first presents itself in your mind.I have personaly have had issue's with addiction all my life. This book has taught me to grab that thought of drugs as soon as it comes and to cast it down.I have done that before and it didnt work out,the thought would come back. Now though I know how to replace that wrong thought with Godly thoughts, and this is what God's Word tells us to do as well. After doing this for a period of time your entire thought process and pattern will change to this "new" way of thinking that you are training your brain to have. This devotional book keeps you on track training your mind from its old fleshly way of thinking to its new Spiritual way of thinking.Without this change we are never going to be where we want to be and have God's best in our life. This is truly a life changing thing that you start when you read this book everyday before your day begains.Your whole attitude and outlook will be seen through a new life and a new mind!! PRAISE GOD FOR USING JOYCE TO WRITE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!

This review is from: Battlefield of the Mind Devotional: 100 Insights That Will Change the Way You Think (Hardcover)
I read a section every morning to begin my day, and this is one of the most uplifting spiritual devotionals I have ever read. It makes you really look inside yourself, a good look at how your thoughts can hold you back from what you want to do. I have grown so much from reading this and even bought two more copies for coworkers that were dealing with restless, unproductive minds. A must read for any person seeking out a better life with God, as well as themselves.

5.0 out of 5 stars The difference between sanity and insanity., March 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Battlefield of the Mind Devotional: 100 Insights That Will Change the Way You Think (Hardcover)
This book is for everyone who is fighting demons and negativity. Step by step it shows you a way to think that is sane, spiritual and Christianity made understandable to apply to your life. Joyce Meyer speaks in plain english to everyone. Nothing is sugar coated, but serious change can retrain your brain to apply God's Word to protect you and enable you to manage your Life that you may have the tools to fight for a sane and satisfying life. A life that pleases God and lets you become who you are meant to be. I am new to this type of thinking, but even though I am over 50, I am learning a new way of living that I believe, if I keep practising it, will bring me the peace and faith I've been looking for all my life. I highly recommend anything by Joyce and watch her televised messages also.
