An informative, clear, and colorful book, which focusses on the key battles of the Civil War. Also provided are wonderful full-color illustrations of various uniforms and their buttons, along with weaponry (both unearthed and in near-mint condition), photographs taken before and after the battles, and maps of the battlefields.
The best segments of the book are the detailed and illuminating accounts and analyses of the battles themselves. This work is a terrific introduction to the conflict's battles and personalities.
