This is a great sci-fi book. I really didn't get into BattleMech but someone recommended this to me. They mentioned an earlier one but I went ahead and read this and what great action! Great ending as well which I hadn't expected. The author definitely has a way of gripping the reader and keeping you engaged all the way to the end. Great read, highly recommend. And I see someone was concerned about format...look it's in paperback as well, but I thought these were supposed to be reviews....
If you are a fan of mecha action or just sci-fi in general, you're going to love this action packed book. There are plenty of exciting battles to keep your hear racing, plus great, fully drawn characters and some really unique and thought provoking science fiction concepts and themes. It's the whole package, just as I'd expect from this accomplished sci-fi author. Robert Jeschonek has written Star Trek and Doctor Who fiction and has a way with "out there" adventures. I loved the first title in this series, Beware the Black Battlenaut, and this one kept up the momentum and left me wanting more. I'm also glad to see that the book is available in paperback as well as a Kindle e-book edition. (Not sure what another reviewer was talking about regarding the lack of a print edition. It's listed right there on the same Amazon product page as the Kindle version.) I highly recommend this thrill ride of a novel for readers who like sci-fi action, relatable characters with depth, and stunning surprises. (I wont't give away the ending, but it's a shocker!) Can't wait for the next book in this series!
A fantastic book with cool full on high-tech BattleMech action and a gripping back story. Fast paced and a real page turner. Recommended. And for the 1 star "reviewer" below who hasn't read it because they don't like Kindles it is available in paperback here - http://www.amazon.com/Resist-Red-Battlenaut-Robert-Jeschonek/dp/1480069752/ref=la_B0037B7E2G_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1352394548&sr=1-1 so don't panic!
Bob Jeschonek has done it again! Full of suspense, action, neat characters, Resist the Red Battlenaut is a must for every BattleMech fan. The Kindle Edition came out a month earlier than the paper edition (as often happens these days), but the paper edition will make a better stocking-stuffer (IMHO).
What is with these "Kindle sequels"? I do not own one nor do I want one. I want a real, live book in my hands. I see many promising series I want to read, until I see the next book in the series is only available on Kindle then I don't waste my money on buying the first books since I will never get to read the series further.
