Guess what...whomever put the model together, never watched the series or read the directions!!!

Your Fins are on Backwards!!! I guess they can shoot the Cylons from behind now...This would of saved Rick Springfield (Zac)

3.0 out of 5 stars Please change the picture
Please, For God's sake, change this picture! The person (who has assembled this kit) has glued the wings backwards ... so it's a bad advertising to this kit showing this picture.

Well, I for one am happy to see that someone hires the mentally challenged for assembly work.

Wings backwards, gear backwards, geez. If the manufacturer submitted this pic, they should be embarrassed.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Pros:
- they finally made one that was close to being accurate after 2+ decades; and at a decent size.

Cons:
- quality seems to be a problem with this manufacturer. The wings look like they are supposed to swivel or detach but my guess is, if you tried they would just snap off and break. There are too many visible gaps in the model.
- paint on hull looks like it was manually applied with a brush- i am assuming that is the look they wanted...

In general they did a better job on the cylon raider.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rejoice, Ye Geek Children Of the 1970s, April 1, 2007
This review is from: Battlestar Galactica Action Figures Series 1 Colonial Viper (Toy)
For those of us who are aging nerdy children of that golden era of the 1970s and 80s, this is the perfect item for a little of that disposable income. Totally geektastic. I've got a few Vipers hanging from the ceiling of my one-year old son's room, another above the fireplace, and a few for playing with. Never can have too many Vipers to fend off the occasional pesky Cylon home invasion.

Why quibble over quality? It's a piece of injection-molded plastic, made from petroluem by-products and releasing deadly carbon into our atmosphere in the process of its construction. As a cheap toy it is par excellence, a modern relic of this brief shiny period in human history when such things are mass-produced and cheaply available.

It is fun. Buy one. It even looks cool with the wings on backward, as in the display photo.

So say we all!

The Battlestar Galactica viper. Ahhh the memories! This is what I like. A model kit that comes already made up, AND painted too. No messing around with Airfix glue and sprues. The detail is excellent.

Now all I need is for them to make the starfighter from Buck Rogers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Replica Toy, August 20, 2005

This is a Replica of the Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper.
The replica is not made for heavy play by children. But makes a great desk or
shelf model. The Viper comes with its own display stand and removable landing treads.

The Viper body is detail painted to give it an authentic worn look around the engines and
wings.

If you are a toy collector or know someone who is. This detailed replica would make a great addition to anyone's collection.

I recently bought the Blue Squadron Viper and I have to say that it is a nice piece. The last viper I bought was the trendmasters version which sucked. But then Trendmasters weren't entirely true the show, If you saw the figures they put out you know what I mean. This viper however is highly detailed as you remember from the show but a bit delicate so if you remove it from the box, be careful not to drop it or misplace the landing gears or the pilot. My pilot was MIA presumed KIA after my cat snatched him from the floor and scurried away with him. Still haven't found him yet either. It's worth buying and yes, it came with the wings mounted correctly.

Apparently no one from Amazon, or they would have noticed by now that this particular model was put together by someone that not only has never seen the show, they also have no understanding of any kind of military aircraft (or spacecraft), period. I mean come on, since the days of the Red Freakin'Baron, the guns have pointed forward. I hope to god that this is an example of outsourcing assembly jobs to Kersplatistan and not an example of our great educational system.
