Highlander Gambit,
By Arlene H. Maeda (Hawaii) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Battletech 18: Highlander Gambit (Bk. 18) (Paperback)
Major Loren Jaffay of the elite troops of the Death Commandoes of the Capellan Confederation is sent on a mission to destroy the "evil" Highlander Regiment because they deserted the Confederation in thier time of need. I think this is a pretty exciting book to read because in the middle of Jaffay's mission the Highlanders split up and battled the Eighth's RTC units. Buy this book it is a good read!!

A man returns to his ancestors, but for what purpose?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Battletech 18: Highlander Gambit (Bk. 18) (Paperback)
The Jaffrey Family left the famous Northwind Highlanders almost three decades ago. Now the man who rules the latest generation of Jaffreys, Chancellor Sun-Tsu Liao, plans to use Loren Jaffrey, the grandson of two of the heroes of the war of 3025, to destroy the Highlanders. But who will he fight for? A nation that he was raised in? Or will he break from every thing he has known to help his ancestors' unit

one of the best Battletech books I've read,

This review is from: Battletech 18: Highlander Gambit (Bk. 18) (Paperback)
This was the first Battletech universe book I had read, so I had a little trouble at first sorting out factions and characters, but it unfolded into a wonderful plot and a memorable clan of highlanders.
The "fight scenes" were described very well. The last 1/3rd of the book was very exciting, I couldn't put it down. Wish I could share more, but I don't want to spoil it for you.
