The "Battletech Manual" is the precursor to the "Battletech Compendium" which would be released later on. It combines the original rules for the Battletech, Citytech, and Aerotech boardgames into one book with a few minor clarifications/modifications. Useful now only to collectors or those who wish to intentionally play battletech by it's original or second edition rules, it is still interesting to see the rules in their original format vs. what is shown in later printings of the compendium.
My parents bought it for me when they gave me my first box of Battletech for Christmas one year so I don't know what was paid. but it definately helped to take my B-tech game to the next level.
