This is a great game! The graphics on this game were really good for being a game boy game. The music is excellent. From the first time you hear the title theme, you Know you're in for a wild ride. The controlls on this game are on the mark and nothing short of perfect. The only thing that may be bad (some like this) is that it is very challenging. Some people like hwne the game cannot be beaten easily. This game is one of those games. But, you have the classic Battletoad stages. Racing, beating, dodging and flying. This will all keep you entertained for hours.

For the first time player, battletoads seems like a "ninja turtles beat em up" game but anyone who plays this will soon find that it is rather different. There are two reasons why I give this game a 3 out of 5 star rating: #1- Even though Battletoads is challenging to begin with, some parts of the game are just flat annoying! #2- The last level is nearly impossible to beat. Overall most people will enjoy Battletoads except for those who hate any kind of challenging games.

Just like the nes version of Battletoads, this sequel puts the challenge into high gear. The first level is easy enough but the challenge picks up after that. Prepare to die a lot. On the positive the game combines several different things to mix it up so it is not just a beat em up all the time. The story is paper thin and is more a reworking of the first games story. I did think the music was pretty good for a gameboy title. The controls work for the most part and fit well with the game play. In the end though it would be a more well rounded game if the difficulty was notched down a few levels but in the end if you are looking for a challenging game look no further. Only the most dedicated will prevail and beat this due to the fact it comes down to reflexes, memory and top notch platforming skills.

Now, I wouldn't suggest this game to people who can't take a challenge because this game dishes it out like no other old school game. It takes reflexes, persistence, and trial and error to beat this game. Though it starts off like your average beat em up, you'll soon learn that there is more to this game than you had originally thought. The game's levels are very unique by the fact that they successfully mixed different genres together. You'll have beat em up, side scrolling shooting, and platforming levels. There isn't really much of a plot but... who needs a plot, it's a Battletoads game!

Overall, It's an addicting game that is a must have for hardcore gamers who enjoy old school games.
