really wonderful bread.so good it seems a misnomer to call it bread.maybe cake would be better?

Bauli Panettone Christmas Cake
I bought a Bauli Traditional Il Panettone 500 gram (1.1 pound) Italian Christmas Cake recently at Costco. Although the cake was satisfactory ( not nearly as good as my Nonna's) the biggest hassle was unsticking the cake from the baking paper that it is shipped in from Italy. The whole cake had to be scraped loose with a spoon and it crumbled and broke much of the outer...

I bought a Bauli Traditional Il Panettone 500 gram (1.1 pound) Italian Christmas Cake recently at Costco. Next Christmas, I'll make my own.

I sent three of these items to relatives, all Italian, for Christmas. All three reported that the panettone was dry and without much flavor. I personally have not tasted this product; just reporting what I heard. On the other hand, the delivery by the vendor was better than I expected, given the holiday rush.
