Actually has a problem with. Does he just think its ugly? What about the quality of the watch? baume et Mercier is second to none. If you like the style of this watch based on the picture you will love this watch. If you are obsessed with James Bond and want to dress like him then you obviously you may want to look elsewhere. But if you want an expertly crafted luxury watch from a company known the world over then this may be the watch for you.

This watch is shining and eye catching from distance. I like the dodecagonal case design and its accurate movement. I dare to say this is the best buy I made in Amazon.

Initially I saw them in the shop and despite having in my personal collection 2 OmegaS, Breitling and Panerai, I firmly decided to buy this perfect "time-keeper" one day, and not by the reasons of the very ETA's 2893-2 caliber or 11 grams of "yellow friend" :) used in this model but thanks to its overall perception and feasibility.
Passed some months and one day on the very Amazon they appeared with a very-very good promotional price... I took that opportunity and "voi-la" I periodically share with this perfect model my days and life...
Completely satisfied with the movement and quality of creation...even the polished details do not disturb my mind...

Was looking for an elegant 18K gold double tone watch. looked in to Raymond Weil, Cartier, Bvlgari etc. Found this one by accident and was so impressed that I seriously started shopping around. Best price was at Amazon for this one. Beautiful mixture of 18k gold and stainless steel. Watch has unique 12 sides face design. Can't find any thing better than this one in this price range. That is why I call it - Best bang for the buck in its class

I am very happy with my purchase. It conveys an impression of solidity as well as a subtle elegance which make it appropriate for any occasion I routinely encounter. I like the Riviera's twelve-sided design which make it a classic without being a cliche, and the quality of it's finish is apparent from a distance.
I keep the dual-time indicator at GMT, and, while I really don't need to know what time it is in London, it is nice to think, that this function would be very useful if I were a world-traveller. The luminescent indicators are highly visible at night, and the dial is very readable, even without bifocals. At forty mm. diameter it is large enough to be contemporary without calling attention to itself, and the only person to have noticed my new Baume & Mercier is a fellow watch-collector. While it pains me to admit it, if push came to shove and I weren't such a watch-nut, it is the only watch I would actually ever need.

I had collected vintage and current timepieces for years and recently had been interested in purchasing a well- crafted automatic watch. As I came across the Baume & Mercier 8781, the styling was exactly what I had been looking for, along with the quality that Baume & Mercier is well noted. My transaction with AMAZON was flawless. When the watch arrived in a magnificent display box, wrapped in layers of plastic, I knew this came from a professional organization. After a month of owning this timepiece, it has kept perfect time, and I could not be happier.

Having owned a number of "high-end" watches over the years (Breitling, Rolex), I believe this to be one of the most attractive and accurate I've had the pleasure of owning. Another plus is VALUE for money. I would highly recommend Baume et Mercier to anyone that asks, and several have since my purchase.

first, allow me to correct a huge mistake made by another buyer.
this watch, Baume & Mericier reviera 8781, can never be equipped with a Valjoux 7750 movement.
All watches equipped with a 7750 movement have a common feature: 3 small circular disks placed at 6,9,12 clock providing chronometer function
but, where are those 3 disks on this reviera 8781? can you tell me?

of course, 8781 has the same movement with 8785.
2893-2 movement is a variant of 2892 movement and the latter is also a very famous movement from ETA

I got my 8781 about a week ago and I was totally impressed by this watch.
It is very elegant and man-looking!!! So cool!
Amazon's packing and protection is top class and the watch is totally brand-new without any scratch.
you have to know I am a very hypercritical person but I still can not complain even a word to this watch.
Considering its insane price in China ($7,000 according to present exchange rate), I have to say "Well done, Amazon!"

I got this as a gift from my girlfriend after her divorce was finalized. To be honest i wish she would have just given me the money. The most expensive watch i've owned up until this one is a Omega Seamaster, which i love. At almost double the price of the Seamaster this watch has none of the Je ne sais quoi that James Bond's favorite watch has. in fact, without hesitation i would rather wear my 4 yr old G-Shock.
