Is a amazing watch. Perfect!
The only point is the bracelet is short!

This Baume & Mercier 8820 Hampton automatic watch is an elegant dess watch done in an art-deco style. The smallish rectangular design runs counter to the current large watch trend -- witness the larger Rolex Dajejust II & Day-Date II. This ultimately timeless design will hold up nicely well after the current large watch fad is over.

This particular model features an annual calendar movement that you'll only need to correct once a year for leap year. Sounds like a bigger benefit than it is, since you'll need to adjust for time about once a week anyway. The level of accuracy I observed is is about 8-10 seconds a day, not bad for an automatic movement that's not chronometer certified. Remember, if you really wanted a 100% accurate watch with perpetual calendar, you'd have gone with one of the excellent Japanese solar-atomic jobs.

On balance, I'm very happy with my Hampton -- it looks great, feels exquisitely finished and will last you a long time. For those unfamiliar with the Baume & Mercier, it's very old and respected Swiss brand made by the same company that also makes Cartier, Jaeger LeCoultre, IWC and several other top Swiss watches.

Less than one month after receiving the watch, the minute and hour hands no longer moved, yet the second hand continued. Looks great but DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
