To keep a long story short, I love this product. The construction is solid, the nylon cord is thicker than other similar reels, it comes with a button over loop for your ID if you don't already have one, and the price point is commendable. I tend to play with badge reels at work a lot and have a bad tendency of burning through them and this is easily the best example of them I've owned thus far.
If I had to point out one very minor gripe it would be the somewhat limited action of the carabiner's clasp. All of mine only go about half way back which can make for a slightly more involved process of attaching them to moderately thick objects such as a belt loop. It will absolutely connect but it's not like a full sized carabiner (obviously) where you can kind of snatch it on there blindly. A very good badge reel for a very good price, I highly recommend these.

After my company supplied badge holder broke, I got these instead. Been using this for 3 months now without any problem.

I bought a pack of these, and was extremely happy with them at first.
The first one lasted several months. One day it started to be reluctant to retract, as if it were dirty, as I tried to work it out, it's spring let loose, and it would not retract at all. I moved to the second one. The second one stopped retracting within three days. I moved to the third one, and it worked for a month. Now I'm looking for a replacement. I really liked these, but they are not durable enough, the spring post will break in a short amount of time. Probably no worse than any other cheap solution, but cheap is the operative word.

I have used these types of badge id reels for many years, and at least on my close examination these appear to be of very high quality design and construction, and I would expect them to last much longer than others I have used in the past.
Operation is smooth, and the Carabiner clasp seems well made and easily slips over my Levi 539 belt loop. Shipping and delivery took only a few days via USPS. Highly recommended!

I really like this id card reel. I've used it for my id card only and this works really well. Not sure how it would work with heavier stuff like keys.

all of them broke within 8 Months of casual use. In all cases the spring gave out. They look really nice and work well but quality is terrible. I wouldnt bother purchasing these if I were you.

I bought these based on price and customer reviews. I am baffled by the positive reviews. One of the three broke into pieces just taking it out from the package. It's not hard to see why: these are made with very weak plastic that snaps together - or breaks apart. The reel mechanism is terrible. One of the other two got stuck the first time I tried it. I've been afraid to touch the third one. I'm not sure I can trust them enough to use them. I wanted the carabiner style, but I think I'll stick with my belt clip instead.

I bought these to replace a retractable holder that broke. At work, I wear an ID on a lanyard around my neck and also have the key I need to get into my workplace on the lanyard. I connected the key to the retractable reel, so that I don't have to either take the lanyard off or lean awkwardly down to get the key into the lock. So far this carabiner-style reel is working fine. Can't speak to how durable it will be, but with three in the package for a very reasonable price, I should be set for quite a while.
