5.0 out of 5 stars Easy assembly, nice product
I love modern furniture and knew I wanted a shell rocker for our daughter's nursery, but we're not exactly operating on an Eames budget. This rocker seemed to strike the right balance; nice looking, small enough for a nursery, and well-priced. My aunt gifted us with it and it arrived yesterday.

1.0 out of 5 stars Arrived Damaged-Horrible Customer Service
The bottom of the chair was damaged. Two out of the four screw holes were drilled incorrectly. Customer Service did all they could to get rid of me.
A friend fixed it for me, then I found the chair not all that comfortable. I will never buy anything from this company again.

Assembly:
I assembled it in less than ten minutes, without any instructions (and I'm eight months pregnant with limited flexibility).

Quality:
I like the plastic shell, it's a clean white and slightly textured. It's definitely durable and easy to clean. Feels sturdy and well made.

Functionality:
As for the rocking motion, I find it smooth and easy on my hardwood floors. I haven't tested it on a rug yet. It is very comfortable. I can rest my arms on it with ease and has a nice cradling effect.

Size:
In terms of size, I will admit that I was worried. Previous reviewers felt that it is very small and I wondered exactly how small it would be. Child sized? Doll sized? Too small for a 5 foot 7 woman? Nah. I fit perfectly in this rocker. Even with the extra girth of pregnancy, I'm sitting comfortably in it. A few points about height and positioning though. It is low to the ground, but not so much that I'm crunched up (and I have long legs). Rocking is easy. A low hassock would be nice with this. One thing that does give me pause is the depth of the shell. It forces me to lean further back than I like. At first, I was a little worried that I'd go heels over head in this thing. I quickly realized that this would be unlikely to happen as the rails are well placed to keep it from toppling over backwards. Despite this, I'm probably going to use a small pillow behind my back.

Nursing:
One point of concern I had about the rocker was how comfortable it would be for nursing. I'll update this section once our daughter is born, but my exhaustive research tells me that the nursing experience is very different from person to person. My opinion may vary greatly from that of the next woman to nurse her baby in it....
UPDATE 11/17/11: Our daughter was born on 11/11/11 and we've been exclusively breastfeeding since. As a nursing rocker, this chair is ok. I don't need a pillow to support my back like I thought would be the case. A nice cozy blanket provides plenty of bolstering. The rocker accommodates me, baby Alaina, and a nursing pillow comfortably. I can lean back easily without slouching. The only issue is how high the back comes up. For night nursing, it would be nice to have something that supports my shoulders. Despite this, I like to sit in it during the day and rocking is easy with the baby in my arms. My rating hasn't changed and I still love this chair. Hope that helps any expectant parents out there!

Overall:
A great buy for budget-conscious lovers of modern design. I'd love to have purchased the real deal and been able to hand a true heirloom of design down to my daughter. Maybe some day. When we hit the lotto. Instead, she'll enjoy this rocker and hopefully inherit our thrifty ways.

Well made. Went together just fine and feels sturdy. Legs are chrome, unlike the pictured black, but that was good in my opinion. It is a carbon copy of the original Eames RAR. If you're not familiar with the original, you may be surprised at how small the chair is. It fits us just fine, but in comparison to modern day chairs it is small.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reproduction, December 8, 2010

Very, very like the original Eames shell rocker. Sturdy and comfortably, and easy to put together. Looks beautiful in a variety of decor styles.

Smaller than you might think, though, if you're not familiar with this kind of chair. I'd say it's sized for the average woman in terms of width and height.

I am happy with my purchase.
It arrived with good condition. And easy to put together.
It sure make my living room look nicer.
The chair size is not bad for me. But if you are very tall, it might not comfortable.
However, my kids & I love my new chair.

I looked at just about every chair available in this style before purchasing this chair. It was a fantastic deal and, I think, a fantastic chair. Assembly was quick and easy and it looks great in our eclectic living room. It's on the small side but even my husband who is six foot five and two hundred and forty pounds sits comfortably in this chair. Good buy, I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, October 16, 2011

This chair is perfect for my three-year-old's room. I read in other descriptions that the chair is 'small' and assumed that meant the seat was small. The seat is actually very similar in size to any normal sized dining or living room chair. It is quite short/low to the ground, so I would probably only use it in a child's room or with other 'low profile' furniture. The price was great, it feels sturdy to sit in, the kids love that they can easily climb in and out of the chair, and it looks great in his room. (I don't think I would use or purchase this chair for a nursing rocker, being 5'9" tall it is not the most comfortable chair for an adult to sit in for hours. As another reviewer stated, the angle of the seat/back require you to lean back to make it rock well, and it only goes up to just over mid-back for me - not super supportive for lots of sitting)

5.0 out of 5 stars Ready to Rock, September 30, 2011

After debating for a while about this rocking chair, I am pleased to report that it is exactly what I was looking for. It looks low but the seat is deep and it fits 5'4" me perfectly. It's quite comfortable on it's own--as comfortable as you would expect for a hard shell chair--but I sling a quilt over the back if I'm going to be rocking my babies for a while. I love that it's highly stylish but much more affordable than a real Eames rocker. The footprint of the chair is modest--just right for our modest size house and already full kids room. The rocker arrived very quickly, was well packaged and took no more than 5 minutes to assemble even without any instructions included. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought this for my sons room who is 2 . It was very easy to put together, took 5 minutes. Its wide enough for an adult but sits a little low. My toddler is tall 3'2" and he's able to get in it himself. It's a great addition for his room and it was the best price around.

5.0 out of 5 stars great chair for the price, July 6, 2011

this chair is as adorable as it looks in the pictures, and so inexpensive considering how much it looks like an eames shell rocker, which is a much more expensive item. As people noted in other reviews the chair is small (more like just low to the ground actually) which is typical of mid-century style furniture. also, this item is made of slightly bendable plastic rather than feeling like fiberglass like the original designer piece. Fine with me though, still seems durable.

Also, I was so impressed with how quickly it shipped to me- only 2 days!
