What an amazing book! It really captures the Bay Area art scene so
vividly. The colors jump off the pages. I am not a long-time graffiti
fan, but this book caught my eye with a scene I never could have
imagined. The art is complex, fun, serious and whimsical. Great
photography by Rotman and wonderful documentation of art that is not
otherwise archived.

It's about time the Bay Area got a book to document all the incredible art that takes places not where the normal eye can see, but much of the time in tunnels, sewers, under bridges, and numerous other places you would only find yourself if your a bum. Steve Rotman has done an excellent job in taking quality photos of contemporary graffiti. This is not a history, however, so no 80s and 90s work. But as a writer who has grown up drooling over books about New York and Los Angeles, its great to have a book that represents what we do.

This book is just a work of art!! This book is for both fans of graffiti and photographers. I would recommend this book to anyone even if they hated graffiti with a passion. The only thing is that the font color of the interviews are black on a dark gray background making it hard to read but other than that is an amazing book that made me want to slap my momma.

This is an amazing representation of Bay Area graffitti. The book is so beautiful that even if you don't know about graffitti, you will love to browse through the pictures. I'm the mom of a budding graff artist who has shown me the beauty in this artform. In my humble opinion, the artists that appear in this book, are our local best. The pictures display their work in a way that it can be appreciated. It's great for the people that know & fun and educational for the people that don't. The book is nice enough to sit out on a coffee table for all to enjoy. I recommend this book to anyone. Get familiar with an artform that is rarely appreciated and one that requires talent & imagination.
