5.0 out of 5 stars Works great! I've found other uses for it too.
This works as advertised. I have used it to replace some flood lights in my high ceiling. 1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money!
Bought this from Home Depot. Returned it an hour later. Lots of attachments and none really grip the bulbs well. Extending pole does nothing but spin inside itself so you can't really get the bulbs to unscrew. As another review said, big basket is too big for all but flood lights, small basket too small for mini-floods. Tried suction cup and that doesn't really hold...

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great! I've found other uses for it too., June 20, 2008
This review is from: Bayco LBC-600C Deluxe Light Bulb Changer Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
This works as advertised. I have used it to replace some flood lights in my high ceiling. My kit came with a pole that telescopes in three sections, but you could use a regular broom handle if your ceiling isn't too tall. To replace the bulb, you push the changer up over the bulb -- the arms spring around it -- and then twist it off. Put the new bulb into the changer, twist it in, and then wiggle the changer loose with a side to side motion.

But it gets better. I've found other uses for it -- this year we had a bumper crop of apricots on our backyard tree and we used the flood light attachment to pick fruit from the taller branches. The basket shape of the flood light changer was perfect for catching the fruit! We put the changer under the fruit and gave it slight tug -- if the fruit was ripe, it would fall gently into the changer's basket. We tried to keep the fruit on the tree as long as possible, and this was really great.

Tonight, I even adapted the kit to change the 9v battery in my smoke alarm! I strapped a magnet to the pole with velcro and used another pole I have to help push it into position and close the door.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be careful when using the sucking cup, November 25, 2008

Got it from Lowes for 20 plus tax, which comes with a 3-segment 11-foot painted metal pole (probably aluminum), a couple extra items for removing broken bulbs, and a bonus duster that can be attached to the pole for cleaning high areas. The kit is very easy to use for indoors. For tilted outdoor floodlight, it takes a while to find the correct angle to screw in a new bulb. But I think this is common for long poles.

However, the sucking cup is not as useful. Even if it sucks to the bulb tightly, it still can be loosened during screwing and unscrewing. I dropped two bulbs. The first one was when I was lowering the bulb and tilting the pole so that my hand could reach the bulb. The second one was when I was screwing in a new bulb. I made sure it was tight, but when I was screwing, the cup moved away from the bulb! I would give three stars but amazon doesn't allow me to change it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money!, April 17, 2011
This review is from: Bayco LBC-600C Deluxe Light Bulb Changer Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
Tried suction cup and that doesn't really hold well, especially when combined with the ever-spinning extend-a-pole.

I was hoping to save the time of dragging out the ladder, moving furniture etc. Instead it took more time fighting with this thing, not even counting the time to go to/from the store to buy and return it.

Save your money and just deal with the ladder. I would give it no stars if it was possible. While I didn't but it here on Amazon (where it is definitely cheaper), I want to save others the aggravation of this garbage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Flood Light Chager Worked Fine, December 10, 2007
This review is from: Bayco LBC-600C Deluxe Light Bulb Changer Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
The kit I purchased came with an extension pole (for $22)and I had no problem using the flood light changer. I have not used any of the other pieces so I can't comment on those but the flood light changer worked pretty quick and easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars This works really well, November 11, 2011

I have a mini flood light that is attached to 30 feet ceiling. When the bulb burns out it has always been a real problem replacing since the light fixture is in the middle of the ceiling I would need a huge A frame ladder to reach it. Last year I bought a suction cup type bulb changer and that was a disaster. It was impossible to know when the bulb was attached and I would ended up dropping and breaking several bulbs.

This Bayco kit has solved the problem perfectly. The way the "fingers" slip over the bulb provides a very positive indication when the bulb it attached. The little friction pads on the fingers do a great job of holding firmly onto the bulb so it can be screwed in or out.

Congratulation to the engineers at Bayco, they have an excellent solution.

There is no way to drop the bulb using this kit.

The kit does include a suction cup. I am not sure why, maybe they include it so you can know how bad life would be if that is all you had. I suggest you just throw it away and stick to the two (large and small) grabber tools.

Prior to purchasing this item I was precariously using a changing kit that had a suction cup. Let me say that it was beyond nerve racking because half the time I'd lose the suction about 20 feet mid air. This kit works PHENOMENALLY and I no longer have a heart attack every time I need to change a light bulb in our 22 foot ceiling.

Dont buy, doesn't come with a pole. Makes no sense to have with no pole. The package says it has a pole. I've never felt ripped off before but I do now. The package even has a place for the pole. I guess amazon takes it out and makes you buy that separate.

1.0 out of 5 stars JUNK, November 17, 2011

This is total JUNK - don't buy it. The suction cup won't stick to bulbs - I have had three bulbs slip off and crash to the floor. The manufacturer will only replace the crappy suction cup and not the bulbs, so I'm out about $6 each for 3 CFLs. Get a ladder or some other product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Get a ladder, skip the pole, September 10, 2011
This review is from: Bayco LBC-600C Deluxe Light Bulb Changer Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
Poorly designed for light bulb removal; an adequate ladder is much better. The torque required to loosen a light bulb is much greater than the torque required to loosen the extension locks. Even if you can grip the bulb, the extended pole will only loosen the locks and recollapse.
