3.0 out of 5 stars Some what expensive and doesn't work as advertised
If you have a number of rose bushes (I have 8) this bottle does not last long (2 oz. per quart per rose bush). I wouldn't mind that if the product did what advertised. However, it does NOT stop Japanese beetles from eating your roses and rose leaves, which is reason I bought it. But it did stop black spot allowing my rose bushes to grow new leaves.

So I decided this spring to take a little action. When spring approached, I removed all the infected mulch around them, the leaves that had fallen and replaced it with new mulch. Then I used the Bayer as instructed - one tablespoon per gallon, pour ONLY on the base of each bush and do so every six weeks.

Let me tell you - they are just thriving! Each bush stands over three feet tall right now and the leaves are all dark green and glossy.

This is a great additive for your roses. It fights three problems: it's an insecticide, an anti-fungal and a fertilizer. It fights from the inside out. So this means no more spraying or combining different chemicals in order to achieve one result. It literally is three in one.

Good stuff. Highly recommended and it saved two rose bushes I thought were doomed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Produces Gorgeous Roses, April 21, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm totally hooked on these newer multiple use products for roses. One new product I especially like is Bayer Advanced All-in-One Rose and Flower Care. This liquid concentrate has one big thing going for it in the fact that it is a drench and not a spray. Drench products are mixed with water and applied around the roots of plants to deliver the best measured control. I'm lazy so I like the fact that Bayer All-in-One Rose and Flower Care provides three critical plant care components in one application. It covers insect control, disease control, and fertilizer. This product is like liquid "Roses for Dummies" allowing a single application to address the multiple functions necessary for great looking flowers. People think growing roses is difficult. Not me. I apply this 3 times each sping and summer on my 65 roses and they flourish!

5.0 out of 5 stars Does Stop the Blackspot., June 8, 2009

This review is from: Bayer 701260B 32-Ounce All in One Rose and Flower Care Concentrate (Lawn & Patio)
I'm a first-time rose grower, and it was a very rainy season. Immediately my rose started showing signs of black spot. I tried spraying aggressively with a natural concoction and that was NOT working, the black spot was threatening to take over. I gave up on the organic route and found this All-In-One solution. It stopped the black spot in its tracks, it really did. I had been afraid I should also spray in addition to this, but I decided to sit it out and see what happened, and sure enough, my rose is happy. I just hope I'm not killing any beneficial bugs by using this product. Admittedly I'm a bit of a nature-gal and I hate doing anything that will harm the environment in any way, so I feel a bit guilty for using this product. But the rose likes it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent.. Well Worth the Money, May 14, 2011
This review is from: Bayer 701260B 32-Ounce All in One Rose and Flower Care Concentrate (Lawn & Patio)
I've used this product for the past few years. Caring for my plants and bringing new ones home from nurseries and friends, pests can get overwhelming. Especially here in the Hot South where the kill time of winter is very short.

I love this product! I have less fungal problems and fewer problems with mites and chewing bugs (like aphids, mealybugs, grasshoppers, etc.), beatles, flies. The beneficial bugs (ladybugs, assassins, spiders) are still around, so there is still "something" to eat..it's just not as much a problem. Who wants to spend all day killing bugs and spraying? All in One is great stuff.

I love that it also feeds the plants, so there's one less thing I need to remember. If using other plant food, be careful not to overfeed in the 2 weeks or so after application.

The dark, milky concentrate is better added first, then add water to the applicator. It's "oily" so I mix it and let it sit for a moment to combine thoroughly. (I use this time to move away any plants or items I don't want contaminated before application).

I use it once a season here, on cool mornings (not over 75 degrees). That's usually enough, as there are less plant pests with use. You aren't supposed to use it when plants are in flower (as much as possible-- who has a garden without flowers?) probably to also help protect bee populations.

I am concerned that the ingredients may affect the bee population, but since I use it as sparingly as possible, I don't see any large effects against bees nor other helpful wildlife. I have butterflies, bees, wasps, frogs, lizards, dragonflies, etc.. and I try to apply this after a watering day, but so early that most creatures are somewhat inactive.

*Be aware to use protection when using this product*; it is a systemic liquid and is absorbed by the roots of plants for protection.. meaning your skin absorbs it as well. It can't be used on edible crops nor for certain sensitive plants listed on the label.

Also, if you are having a "wet" spell with a lot of rain, the product's effect seems a little diluted (maybe more bugs and fungus?), but as everything dries out, plants are strong and protected again.. you might have to reapply a week earlier than you planned. (ie. in 4 weeks instead of 6) ;-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Product if used as directed., August 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bayer 701260B 32-Ounce All in One Rose and Flower Care Concentrate (Lawn & Patio)
Bayer All-In-One is a good product, and probably the best I have found of its class and usage. It does NOT provide quick results, nor does it get rid of things like black spot, rust or "southern blight" on leaves that already have it, but it prevents the disease from spreading if used REGULARLY as directed, if the infestation is not already too heavy.

Additionally, I have NEVER had any beetle or spider mite problems since using this product, and powdery mildew is eliminated almost totally and fairly quickly.

It is not a cure-all but it certainly helps and is a hundred times more effective that any of the "greenie", "organic", or "eco-friendly" useless wastes of money I have tried.

BTW, the one very negative review here is not accurate. See comments to that review from two of us who actually did the research and reported ACCURATELY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kills fuschia mites, January 7, 2011
By
Ken "Ken" (San Francisco) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bayer 701260B 32-Ounce All in One Rose and Flower Care Concentrate (Lawn & Patio)
This stuff is great. It is the only thing I have found to kill fuchsia mites. I have 3 different kinds of fuchsias--all of which have problems with the mites to some extent, and this has worked on all of them. Besides fuchsias, I've used it on lots of different plants. I have an Angel's Trumpet that kept dropping its leaves, and having only a few flowers. The leaves had something powdery and black under them. I used this stuff, the leaves stopped dropping, the black disappeared, and the plant started blooming. I used it on roses where I was having problems with powdery mildew, rust, and black spot. Not only did all these problems vanish, but the roses bloomed more than they have in years. Oh, and it got rid of the aphids and caterpillars that were eating my roses too. I used this on irises where I was having problems with white flies. Yep, got rid of them, and even helped irises to bloom that were in shade, and had not bloomed since the plants around them had grown up and shaded them.

I have only one complaint. The label says it will last 6 weeks, but my experience has been that it lasts only about 3 weeks. This year, I'm going to try using it every month - until money runs low - and see how that works. It would be nice if the plants built it up and stored it internally so that over time not as much would be needed. However, I've never seen anyone report on long term, continuous use over several years, and whether any of it seems to stay in the plants long term.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Rose Protection, May 2, 2010

(REAL NAME)
Last year I struggled to protect my roses from black spot and keep them healthy and by fall they looked like they were dying, but they managed to make it throught the winter. This spring I applied this product to all of them and to an Azelea plant that had also been struggling. You wouldn't believe the results. All my roses are blooming and healthier than I have ever seen them. People driving by my house slow down to look at them and the Azalea is thick with new growth and blossoms so thick you cannot see the leaves. I will be usisng it every two months from now on and highly recommend it to any lover of roses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rosy-posy's best friend, April 15, 2010

This review is from: Bayer 701260B 32-Ounce All in One Rose and Flower Care Concentrate (Lawn & Patio)
I used to battle bugs and all sorts of stuff w/ my Gram when she and I grew roses in front of my childhood home. I remember how proud we would be to get a few bug-free, disease-free blooms out of them. Now, I have roses in front of my house. I wasn't about to put in the time and $, only to be frustrated and have to rip out diseased plants after a few years. So, I decided to try the Bayer stuff. I normally go the natural route. But I had seen how ineffective it was when I was growing up and learned my lesson when it comes to roses. We start getting bugs here in late March and our springs are wet. It's all just no big deal for my beauties. They bloom and bloom, and look fantastic. I have floribundas and hybrid types. I even won a first place ribbon last year at our local fair for one of my blooms. I'm very happy w/ this product, it's easy to use, and you don't need to spray it all over. I feel like it's safer than the "natural" sprays b/c it is COMPLETELY absorbed by the plant, rather than getting diluted and washed off. (Which of course runs into local waterways.) Works great on potted tree roses too, just use a little less than you would for the groundlings. The only caveat is that it doesn't do diddly for those nasty Japanese beetles. You need the milky spore powder for that. Overall, Bayer has great product here and I highly recommend it.
