This is not 14 gauge aluminum wire; it is 16 gauge,

Baygard (Parmak) does not package or sell 14 gauge aluminum wire in 164 ft. rolls; only 16 gauge wire. Amazon needs to changed their description on this so it is accurate. I am going to keep the 16 gauge wire and try it out. I am attempting to add hot wire to my existing chain-link fence so my 80 lbs. Rhodesian Ridgeback dog will no longer climb the fence.

I purchased an electric fence kit for a backyard installation knowing the included wire was too short. I replaced the short included wire with this spool, which turned-out to be near perfect length for the area I wanted to cover. The Labrador Retriever no longer goes near the fence.

bought this to use on a chain mail vest, using lighter aluminum over steel. Its a lot easier to work with and much more costume worthy.

I bought this wire to use with a tool that uses wire to clamp things like hoses or split wooden handles. This wire makes good clamps. For other purposes, it may work better than paper clips or coat hangers. It doesn't seem to get brittle or corrode. This wire is harder and stronger than the aluminum wire I've used in the past. I might have thought it was 16-gage steel electric-fence wire. (This aluminum wire is called 14-gage because nonferrous wire is measured by the American Wire Gage rather than the Steel Wire Gage.)

Want to keep small critters from eating your garden plants, string this wire on insulators around your garden with an inexpensive critter shocker control box and problem solved. I've tested it on myself and these small animal shockers just startle and scare them away. Anything large like a deer or bear forget it, they will just ignore the shock and eat your vegetables.
