Bayou Backwaters takes us on a trip through the unspoiled home of the alligator and the snakebird, the raccoon and the skunk, the armadillo and the water moccasin. Each chapter contains a storehouse of information about the animals that live in the bayou country, written in a flowing narrative style that communicates to us not only the violence of the animal world, but also the peace and serenity of the backwaters. Beautifully written and illustrated.
