Used this at thanksgiving. Mess cleans up easily, skin comes our crisp but inside is moist. We use apple juice. I have a couple of smaller ones for chickens. These are great.

After years of beercan chicken smoking, we decided to try it with a Turkey for Thanksgiving. This rack is just wwide enough for a 15 oz. Foster can needed for the bigger bird after manipulating the metal a little and narrow enough to standup a 12.5 lb. turkey perfectly. I am sure you could do a slightly smaller bird and any bigger size bird if your smoker is tall enough.
For those who hate turkey, the steam inside the bird and the ingredients in the can will soften the interior so you have a moist and tasty bird, rather than the typical dried out roasted turkey, without worrying about the bird tipping over.

Have used this several times - makes wonderful chicken. Only wished it came with a drip pan - so bought some aluminum disposable pans. Bought a cookbook for beer can chicken and it has provided some excellent suggestions that were new to us - yummmmmm!

My husband does the chicken all the time but I never tried the turkey. Wish I had found this years ago! would have saved hours of basting and worrying about dry turkey. It was so easy, 1) season turkey, 2) open beer, 3) drop in the beer, 4)plop on the turkey, 5) place in oven, 6)set timer, 7)go back to bed, 8)wake up, to golden brown, and by all responses from my guests, moist and tasty fowl. Steps 6, 7 and 8 optional. Yep, this is my new best friend for Thanksgiving and christmas. Giving some as gifts for my culinary challenged family members, you can't mess this up!

Worked well. I put a 27 lbs turkey on it and it stayed up during the entire smoke process, which kind of surprised me.

I used this to cook Thanksgiving turkey and it was great. Best flavor to a turkey we've had in years. Will cook another with this product.

I've been making beer can chicken for years. This year we wanted to try beer can turkey. So for Thanksgiving this year that is what we had.
The turkey can out great. It was very moist, even the white meat. I highly recommend this product.

My turkey for Thanksgiving was a gorgeous golden brown & delicious! One guest liked the turkey & method used so much, I'm getting him 1 of these for Christmas. I don't believe this can fairly be reviewed by those saying it is too tall for their roaster (the image shows how you have to bake it upright) nor do I believe it is fair to give a negative review b/c it's messy without a pan (using a pan under it should be a given. I used a roaster pan under it & had no problems.) This is a delicious & novel way to bake a turkey-great food & conversation piece.

I bought the Beercan TurkCAN Rack to use with a 22 lb turkey in my water smoker. I figured that configuring my turkey as if I were doing a beer can bird would work better than my usual technique. I put the turkey on it's holder over a mixture of water, wine, and spices, cavity side down. The holder held the turkey exactly correctly over the liquid mixture and what came out was marvelous. I highly recommend one of these turkey holders if you plan to get fancy with a smoker.

We have a typical standard size smoker (about the size of an outdoor gas grill) and this will not fit in it with a turkey setting on top of it. My husband has decided that it must take a special sized smoker because it will not work in our Weber Kettle grill either.
