The product itself is ok. I had a problem with an order and the company was completely unresponsive. They didn't return phone calls or emails.

As long as everything you order is ok then fine. If you have an issue then don't depend on Bayou Classic fixing it. This is a ma and pop outfit and they don't have the resources to handle the volume of business they are doing.

Buyer beware!

I bought this burner over the black painted one to avoid having the paint burn off. It works well from a low flame all the way up to full blast. You do need to take care to adjust the choke so you get a good blue flame and to much gas will cause the flame to blow itself out but it can bring 14 gallons of wort to boil quickly.

purchased in May 2011 to replace a older painted Bayou Classic burner. This SS model is double the cost of a plain painted version that performs the same function but is expected to last considerably longer since it is constructed of heavy duty stainless steel vs. lightweight painted aluminum. Well, I believed it was worth the difference & ordered it for the extended life expectancy. Unforunatly, it is rusting/corroding in the welds & frame as well as the SS braided gas hose. After numerous unanswered messages to Barbour International, Inc. (Bayou Classic) I finally spoke with the General Manager. He informed me that rust/corrosion was not unusual as they are not constructed from #304 stainless steel. We traded numerous emails that all summed up with me, the now dissatisfied customer, having to pay the packaging/shipping expense of $30.00+ (that equates to 30% of the purchase price)to return ship my defective unit back for what was promised to be replaced with the same model. I do not believe that a 4 month old product of this type should have cost me a cent much less the inconvienance of having to get it boxed & shipped. Not only would I have been without the benefit of my burner for a undetermined period of time, I had no recourse whatsoever if I wasn't sent back the replacement unit.
I requested in writing from Barbour International to 1st ship me the replacement unit with a prepaid return shipping label & I would promptly ship them back my rusted/corroded unit upon receipt. That was not acceptable solution to them.
Now for the good news. I now contacted Amazon and they offered to either ship me a like model at no cost to include return shipping expense for my defective unit or a full refund. Now, thats excellant customer service.

I bought this as a gift for my beer brewing husband. I love it. It takes so much of the time off of boiling 6 gallons of water that it's no longer an all day process. And it keeps any boiling accidents off of my stove!

I ordered this product for my homebrew activities... and maybe a turkey frying now and then. Well, to be honest it's just a little lacking. while the burner will bring my 8G of wort to boil, it takes longer than my $30 burner i got from Academy. This lacks any form of windguard and this can probably be attributed to the inefficiencies of this burner. I'd say to not waste your $$ and get a cheaper one.

Great product! As described. The quality is great at fair price considering it is stainless steel. No reason to buy anything else. Shipping was quick with no delays.

I own this item - bought it from a local home-brew store to make beer. I think it's well constructed, works extremely well and is a good value for the money. (See my comments on the 1-star review debunking some of the negative comments.)

Do not be fooled by stainless steel frame. If you are buying a stove for outdoor use, this product isnt it for you. The burner is a poor designed cast iron with some silver colored paint. It has already rusted and will not last. So what the stainless steel frame for if its parts rust?

Plus, the burner is only secured by one single screw. It rotates and tilts. If I would design this product, I would use brass. The burner should be secured on all three legs on a stainless steel plates which itself has to have at least three screws on the frame. The frame will need another Y shaped under bar to firm up the burner mounting.

Dont think Bayou Classic have any good engineer. They should be removed from Amazon's vendor list if they do not improve.

I am surprised Amazon markets such a poor product.

This is one of the best turkey fryer burners around. The burner is heavy duty and puts out a powerful even flame like some expensive kitchen stoves. This is what makes this an excellent fryer. All of the other fryers have weak, small and poorly designed burners.

I ordered this for three reasons: My deep fryer for fries, brewing beer, and making large batches of mole. First, it does have lots of heat, so there is no issue there. But, For such an expensive and simple unit, I fully expected it to be Made in USA, but it was not, it was made in China :-(

Then, the space in the middle between supports is so large, even my deep fryer barely fit on it. Very dangerous!!! 300 degree oil that could flip over at any time if it moved a quarter inch! I had to use a BBQ grill on top of this unit to get my pot to be safe and keep from flipping.

So, if I had known it was made in China, I would not have ordered it. Also, if I had known the whole in the middle was so big and my deep fryer wouldn't fit, I would not have ordered it. I will take this to a welding shop and have it modified, effectively doubling the price of the unit, but I have to do it for safety and function.

I feel deceived, because on the Bayou Classic website they promote themselves as an American company from the South.
