The dutch oven is well made, was priced right and received in a timely manner. However, the product arrived damaged because there was absolutely no packing material in the carton. NONE! This resulted in a bent and "chinked" handle. The outside of the box was in perfect condition but having two loose pieces of heavy cast iron jumbling about in an over-sized carton without the benefit of any packing is bound to result in damage. I place the blame for this entirely on the shoulders of Amazon. I do almost all my on-line shopping through Amazon and hope this is a fluke, not a new standard Amazon has adopted to cut costs.

wax on the pots; the best way to get it off is to burn it off outside on
the grill, the fumes are too much to do it inside.

Amazon must have paid attention to a previous review - this item was packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. I had forgotten how heavy cast iron is (duh) and the care it requires, so in spite of how cute and strong and probably perfect this dutch oven is, I decided it wouldn't work for me and gave it to my chiropractor, who said it is well made and an excellent piece. He specializes in outdoor cooking with cast iron and was happy to add this to his cookware.

This Dutch Oven is even better than I expected with such a low price !! Bayou Classic Dutch Ovens are wonderful !! I love to cook with cast iron and this oven is perfect for pies and breads. It should work great for inside cooking and ouside cooking as well. The handles are superb and the lip on the lid will work wonderfully with coal or fire cooking !

This is a great 2-QT dutch oven for the price. It works just as good as dutch ovens costing twice as much. We love using cast iron and will purchase more Bayou products in the future.
