5.0 out of 5 stars Romance and Suspense in an Exotic Setting, July 15, 2008
This review is from: Bayou Paradox (Bayou Series #4) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #103) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have enjoyed every one of Robin Caroll's Bayou series. This is the fourth book, and it's a good one. Tara LeBlanc is the only one of the three sisters who is still involved with voodoo. Even her grandmother, Marie, the one who taught the girls about the old ways, has become a Christian and forsaken her former beliefs. Tara resents what she sees as their betrayal of what they have been taught. She wants no part of the fairytale about God. The voodoo spirits are good enough for her.

Tanty Shaw, an eldery friend who is teaching Tara about voodoo, is found lying on the floor of her house. She's now in the hospital in a coma, and Sheriff Bubba Theriot, Tanty's nephew is investigating the case. Bubba, a devoted Christian, isn't about to buy Tara's theory that someone poisoned her. Then Tara's grandmother is found in a coma and it begins to look as if something sinister is going on. Bubba is attracted to Tara, but he doesn't want anything to do with a woman who practices voodoo. Can God and the love of a good man change someone as stubborn as Tara LeBlanc?
If you like romance and suspense in an exotic setting, you'll want to try Robin Caroll's Bayou series. They're all great reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bayou Paradox, September 20, 2009

Love 2 Read Novels "Sherry" (a small town in Kansas USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bayou Paradox (Bayou Series #4) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #103) (Mass Market Paperback)
Bayou Paradox (Book 4 in the Bayou Series) continues the story of the LeBlanc girls but centers around Tara LeBlanc (Coco & Alyssa's sister) and Sheriff Bubba Theriot. When Grandmere and Tanty are found unconscious, they are rushed to the hospital. The doctors can't figure out why they are in a coma or what exactly is wrong. Tara resorts to her Voodoo background and tries to prepare a healing potion. It's there by the work shed that she sees strangers in the Bayou. They say they are there to gather information on the plants but Tara thinks they're trouble. Are they friend or foe? Does this have anything to do with her Grandmere and Tanty? The sheriff is trying to gather the facts but Tara seems to be getting into trouble at every turn. They seem to be at each other throats and yet there is a strange sensation pulling at their hearts. Is there a future for these two?

This was a great addition to the series. All the characters from the first 3 books are part of this story. I highly recommend you reading them in order to get a more complete story.
