Internally, the EL 260's thermally stable MOSFET transistors are built to withstand prolonged exposure to high temperatures. However, should the amp reach an excessive operating temperature, the unit's thermal protection circuit is designed to kick in, thus shutting down the amp until the conditions cool off. This protective feature dovetails with the amp's other protection circuits, which include DC offset protection (shields the amplifier output from DC voltage) and short circuit protection (detects all shorts in the speakers and wiring). And if that wasn't enough, Bazooka added liquid cooling to keep the EL 260 running its best under the harshest of conditions.
Other features include an unbalanced RCA input; heavy-gauge bare-wire distribution blocks for maximum power and signal transfer; a variable 0 to 12 dB bass boost; tri-mode capability (for running the amp in stereo and mono at the same time); a diagnostic green LED; and a remote turn-on function that coordinates with the head unit to save current consumption.
