I bought this train for my nephews (2 and 3 years old). it is just as big as the pictures indicate; they crawl in and out of it with ease, and sometimes pull my brother and sister-in-law in there with them! Some notes:1) it's quick and easy to set up (though my brother did mention that over time, the boys began playing with the poles that hold it up and he had to intervene a couple of times to reset them). 2) big enough for multiple kids (and sometimes grown-ups!) to enjoy and play in/on/around without having to worry about small pieces or choking hazards. 3) it offers a range of opportunity for Imagination Play; both boys found fun things to do that centered around trains and travel. at one point the 3-year-old decided it was time to travel across the country by train, so my brother was able to throw some geography lessons into the mix. 4) I'd also recommend this product for those with a big-to-large living room/play room space so the train can remain assembled over a long period of time.
