I bought 2 of these for grandchildren for Christmas, Carly 14, and Trevin 6. Both loved them. The place where I bought them was sold out. I needed one for my 5 year old grandson for his birthday. I paid half the price here. I would recommend this for a child of any age. If they have a big brother or sister, the younger ones would benefit from working with the older ones.

My children love science experiments and my 6 yo has recently wanted to learn about hurricanes and other storms. She's younger than the recommended age but we've enjoyed this kit enormously. There are more experiments than I expected and very fun. It's suitable for older children (8+) in that it offers some basic information to teach and take the experiments/knowledge further. I highly recommend this kit and would gladly purchase another in this series.
