Over 25 Experiments in 5 Test Tubes

Be Amazing!'s Test Tube Wonders is a great introduction the world of science for young scientists. Each of the five test tubes is used to conduct several experiments including: Insta Snow — Make a blizzard in a test tube—instantly; Magic Sand — Experiment with amazing, colorful, waterproof sand; Energy Beads — Use the sun to make these incredible beads change color; Growing Dino — Grow a squishy dinosaur in a test tube, just by adding water; Rainbow Tube — Grow squishy jelly crystals, and use them to trap a rainbow in a tube. The test tubes come with their own secret (hint: soda pop manufacturers use them for something else). Also, they can be used again and again after the experiments are done. The kit contains a list of experiment ideas to get your child started.

New Scientists Welcome

Designed for young scientists ages 8 and up, Test Tube Wonders is an excellent way for science newcomers to learn the basics of chemistry and polymers, physics, and optics. The clever instructions are rolled up inside each test tube and provide a step-by-step approach for completing each experiment and explain the science behind the process. The instructions help your child and you, the adult assistant, explore cool scientific processes, like why the materials in baby diapers are absorbent, how compasses use magnets to work, and what makes us burp. Kids will learn to determine whether a sunscreen works to block out harmful rays and discover the composition of water. All the powders and beads come in resealable baggies that help to reduce spills and messes. If kids don’t use the whole substance in the first experiment, they can seal it up and pack it away for later. The whole kit packs back into its zippered bag for an easy clean up.

  • 5 test tubes with lids and a test tube holder
  • Insta-Snow Powder Magic Sand
  • Energy Beads and rainbow bracelet cord

I purchased this for my 9 year old. It is nice because you can do a small project every night. It gives a bit of science terminology without going way over their heads and provides manageable projects that are pretty impressive. My daughter has really enjoyed this kit.

We were so excited to use this kit the day we got it (Christmas), but we were so disappointed to find out that you needed several supplies that were not included in the kit! So, beware before you buy that you also need:

Sunglasses
Sunscreen
A Black light (seriously?)
a bunch of clear plastic cups (disposable)
Styrofoam cups (3)

Plus more.

I got this for my nine year old for Christmas, and it is great. Defintely have gotten our money's worth out of it. The test tubes are durable and can be used even after the experiments are done, the explinations of the experiments are easy to understand, the experiments are fun, and many of them can be done more than once if you want to. I plan to buy more of these in the future.

My kids and I are very impressed with this kit. The kids love the test tubes and all the experiments are separate with easy instructions and no mess!! Going to buy some for birthday gifts for sure as most kids will love these projects and parents too.

This set is made of good quality plastic. The test tubes are sturdy and easy for a child to handle. The experiments are appropriate for very small children with bright color and easy steps. My disappointment is that they are essentially just magic tricks since there is absolutely NO EXPLANATION OF THE SCIENCE. For example one experiment is to use Easter egg dye and add absorbent polymers to make jello like "crystals". The color is pretty, but there is no mention of how our bodies use a similar polymer to make cartilage and other connective tissues shock absorbent, or how this principle is used in industry. Like I said, they are basically magic tricks since no science is explained. Good quality, but would be better with some education added.

After discovering that our 9 year old daughter had fun doing home experiments through a school book order, we looked into getting her something a little more exciting for Christmas. This item was a big hit with her, she can spread out the experiments over time, and can do most of them more than once. It is well into January and she hasn't even gotten through half of them. The variety keeps her interest, so much so that she now loves science in school and wants to learn even more. Simple and easy for her to do herself, without much help. Great family involvment (her 16 year old sister loves doing it with her and thinks it is cool too!). It opens the door to stimulating conversation about chemistry, and how it works in every day things. Through talking with her, she was actually led to an interest in cooking chemistry. Great idea for something different, educational, and most of all, FUN! Plus there are several more sets besides this one to add on down the road, great educational toy!

Bought this set for my girls ages 8 and 6 for hands on science. It is not a in depth learning experience but it is great fun and creates curiosity to find out what else they can do. Think I now have budding chemists on hand. Any tool or toy that helps my girls get excited about learning is a winner in my book.

I have had these "test tube in a bag" kits before and sang their praises. But the one listed I was very disappointed with and would not buy more from this company unless I checked it out. One noticeable thing was how clumsy the test tube holder was, it could easily fall over, their previous stands were solid. The disappearing ink worked poorly. Making the ball was good, but the bubbles were not easy for the girls to use. Growing the jelly like balls was a repeat from another experiment.
