I couldn't wait to read this book after reading Jack's story. I enjoyed this book, but I really didn't like the female character at all. Okay so Suzanna was fat all through school and then she gets skinny and seduces her grade school/highschool crush and she has major issues with getting pregnant and fat. She hides so much from Tim, from the pregnancy to the fact that...

I was really looking forward to reading this book because I had really enjoyed Love to Love You Baby. I thought reading about Jack's twin Tim would be hilarious. I was partitally correct. The beginning of Be my Baby Tonight started out promising I thought. But, because of the lies and deceptions between Suzanne and Tim, it got very muddled in the middle. There was no communication at all between them. It was like they were two totally seperate characters residing in one book. Tim managed to get better as the book went on. I found it hilarious how he went through the pregnancy symptons with Suzanne. Suzanne was a character I really did not like at all. She just was too... insecure, and mean too. She wasn't a very good heroine at all. The only reason I am really giving this book 4 stars is because I did enjoy reading about the characters that I had already met. Jack and Keely and Candy, and the new baby. Plus, the story of Margo the cat was cute too. I did think that the book got better right towards the end, but unfortunately the middle was something of a stumble for me. But, if you enjoyed Jack's story, I would recommend renting this at the library, or if you do buy it, buy it at a used bookstore.

I couldn't wait to read this book after reading Jack's story. I enjoyed this book, but I really didn't like the female character at all. Okay so Suzanna was fat all through school and then she gets skinny and seduces her grade school/highschool crush and she has major issues with getting pregnant and fat. She hides so much from Tim, from the pregnancy to the fact that she is having twins etc.. I know he doiesn't tell her the main reason for marrying her but she needlessly tortures him throughout the book. I just found her vindictive and I really don't fell like either of the characters loved each other or that a marriage in the long run would work out between them. It was nice to see Keely, Jack, Aunt Sadie, Joey and Sweetness again though. This is a good read for those who read Jack's story and want to see what is going on with all of the other characters otherwise the book just has too much lying and boring fighting to be really great.

1.0 out of 5 stars "You know, Tim. .", September 20, 2006
I am currently trying to read this book. I am failing miserably. It's AWFUL. It's my first Kasey Michaels book and I was excited to read it. I love baseball, baseball players, and an unexpected pregnancy bringing a couple together. I also like a good plot, a well written story and realistic dialoug. This book has has none of the last three things.

It drags. It drags like you are pulling a semi truck up a hill at one of those strong man competitions. Only, you are not the strong man. I don't understand why Suzanna agreed to marry Tim. They don't seem compatible and I am not particulalry fond of them. But, I could get over that.

The thing that drives me absolutely NUTS about this book is THE DIALOUG. There is TOO MUCH TALKING. For example, Tim has a nightmare. The reader is told what the nightmare is while Tim is experiencing it. Then, Tim awakens and describes the nightmare to his roommate in painful detail that the reader was just given a few paragraphs ealier. It wasn't necessary. It added nothing. I got the picture the first time.

And if that weren't bad enough, the characters seriously, used the name of the person they were talking to EVERYTIME THEY SAID SOMETHING. For example, Tim and Suzanna are the only too people in the room. THE ONLY ONES. They are alone. And EVERYTIME one of them says something, they address it to the other. It would be like my husband and I were having dinner alone and I needed the salt. Were we talking as they do in the book, my husband would look at me and ask"Indigo, could you pass the salt?" and I would respond, "Why of course, Paul"

People DO NOT talk like that. And they don't just do it once either, it's EVERYTIME they talk. It's really obnoxious. The editor should have said something.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quick read... but good., May 2, 2004
I read this book in a night. It was good in many places, but it got confusing in parts. The baseball angle of the book really wasn't played up that much, which was somewhat of a disappointment. But the characters were good, and well developed, which made it an enjoyable read. They aren't portrayed as holier then thou people who don't make mistakes, or have issues. Suzanna and Tim have more issues than the National Geographic. Which made it enjoyable to read. I would recommend it, but read Love To Love You Baby, which was the first in the series.

I enjoyed this book alot it some lol (laugh out loud) moments but the start of the realtionship with Tim and Suzanna made this book only 4 stars instead of 5 I mean he took her to Vegas to get married she should of known something was up but don't worry everything turns out great in the end and I really enjoyed the rest of the book. I plan on passing this around to my friends who love to read fun romance novels

3.0 out of 5 stars Baby oh baby, October 7, 2002

Like others - I read Love to Love You Baby and thought this one would be just as good - WRONG. LTLYB was smart, funny and a nice light read. Be My Baby Tonight dragged. I couldn't get into the characters, Tim lies Suze doesn't like herself or her marriage, and what happened to the funny, offbeat characters from the first book? This one felt like a reheated version of the last book and not very good.

3.0 out of 5 stars glazed over the baseball talk, August 15, 2011
This review is from: Be My Baby Tonight (Hardcover)
Heroine has been in love with professional baseball player Hero since they were childhood friends. They haven't seen each other for years since she moved far from home for college. Reuniting over dinner one day quickly leads to a spur-of-the-moment Vegas wedding. Their work schedules & frequent travels out of town makes for some passionate sexual reunions but impede their emotional intimacy. Their marriage worsens when she finally finds out the reason why Hero wanted to marry her. But her unplanned pregnancy challenges both of them to carefully think about what they want out of their r/s & their desire to obtain it.

There were some entertaining moments in this Michaels book. The characters, dialogue, & the way the main romance progressed was written in a light-hearted fashion & was sometimes humorous. The baseball talk & info (which there was a lot of) I could do without. My eyes & interests glazed over the baseball stuff & I'd skip over to the romance parts. Sexual chemistry & sex scenes were ok. I liked how Hero gradually fell in love with heroine & worked to convince her of his affections for her. He didn't grovel exactly. He gave her the space & time that she wanted & showed his interests by supporting her in her pregnancy & having sympathetic pregnancy symptoms. It worked to show her that he was serious about her & was believable enough for me.

Somewhat recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Be My Baby Tonight, December 5, 2009
Do you believe in curses? Tim Trehan sure does. The star player for the Philadelphia Phillies has always been haunted by following in the footsteps of his older brother- always doing the same thing he does just months later. Now, twin brother Jack suffered an injury that ended his MLB career too soon, and Tim is terrified he will be next. So when his awkward childhood friend turned gorgeous young women appears at one of his games, Tim believes he has found a way to fight the curse.
Suzanna Trent has always loved Tim. When they were growing up, she would do anything for him- homework, bail him out of trouble, good ole Suze would do anything. And her love for Tim has not faded over time. After spending a few hours together (and a passionate night in bed) Tim proposes that they head off to marry in Vegas. Thinking that he must have loved her all these years just as much as she did, Suze agrees and quickly becomes Mrs. Trehan.
But Suze quickly finds out that Tim only married her in hopes of warding of the curse that could possibly end his baseball career. Before she can decide how to react, they find out another common factor between him and his brother- fatherhood. Suze is pregnant.
Be My Baby Tonight by Kasey Michaels is an excellent read. The entire book will keep you on your toes, wondering if this couple can possibly make things work. Does Tim really love Suze? And is Suze actually in love with Tim, or just infatuated with the school boy she once crushed on? Michael's does a great job at making both main characters come alive, and you can't help but wonder who was really at fault for the rushed marriage- and hope that the adults can overcome all the obstacles.
