4.0 out of 5 stars Fasten your SeatBelt!!, November 8, 2004
This review is from: Be (Paperback)
This is about as in-your-face as it gets. Lots of Buddist and other basic life teachings are put into a "get off your ass and do it now" plan for realizing who you are, your purpose and passion in life and what you want for a eulogy when you die.

If you are in the frame of mind to change your life, this book won't help you do it, it will make you do it.

It changed mine. It took less than 4 hours to read. So, there's really no excuse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be ready for "Be" to change your life, January 18, 2006
By
This review is from: Be (Paperback)
If you want to change your life, "Be" will help you do it. If you don't want to change your life, then you probably wouldn't be attracted to this book in the first place. I like "Be" because it is to the point, non-preachy, written in an almost conversational style, and easy to follow. It provides the basic steps necessary for lasting and permanant change. One must simply do the exercises and implement what one has learned...Great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Book, May 27, 2005
This review is from: Be (Paperback)
This is a good book with a lot of advice. It is only intended to make you think. Be does not offer easy answers. Most readers will complete this book in a couple of hours, however you actually have to do the exercises (which will be more than 4 hours).

5.0 out of 5 stars Be inspired!, September 1, 2006

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Be (Paperback)
This is a great inspirational book to get you thinking about your life and where you want it to go. It makes you peer into your life and think about the type of person you are--and if that is who you really want to be. A.C. Ping (the author) definitely "keeps it real" by writing in slang...it makes you feel like he's a friend of yours. It is an easy-to-read book with a few workbook pages in it for you to write your own thoughts. A great book that shouldn't be passed up!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Be", April 24, 2010
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Be (Paperback)
"Be" is the first in a trilogy by A.C. Ping. The books can be read in any order. All three uncannily shine a realistic light on life questions and challenges that we all have in common. It was comforting to know that I'm not the only one with certain doubts and fears about myself and life, and that others are also wondering why we are here and what our purpose might be. In the span of these three slim, short chaptered, books Ping speaks straight-from-the-shoulder in a direct and entertaining manner. I came away clearer and better prepared for whatever happens today or tomorrow and with a better understanding of my past and why and how I got here.

If you like these books and would like something a bit heavier spiritually, you might try Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life." Michael C. Rann's and Elizabeth Rannn Arrott's "Shortcut to a Miracle" approaches life from a quantum physics perspective that is truly inspiring and not at all technical as my description might make it seem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book awesome price, March 3, 2010
This review is from: Be (Paperback)
The awesome price is that copies are available here, at least at the time of this writing, for as low as one cent. Given the powerful spiritual and motivational content, it has to be one of the most undervalued books ever. The author uses some of his own life experiences and examples of how to achieve what he preaches. The pocket size makes it easy to carry everywhere and the short chapters can be read in a few min. here and there.
