About the Author

Jodie Davis is best known as the author of 30 quilting books. She also produces and hosts on QNNtv.com the online television station devoted to all things quilting two monthly series Quilt Out Loud and Quilt It! Jayne Davis has been crafting for years, and she and co-author Jodie Davis are the authors of several craft books. As Jodie and Jane discovered, creating alone is fun, but creating together is a blast. Whether scouring antique stores for just the right find, fondling yard goods in a fabric store, or flipping through magazines they have found that two heads are way better than one when it comes to designing-and having a great time while doing so. Together the duo proves that teaming up makes the adventure much more fun.

More About the Author

You will ask - everyone always does - so here goes...

Yes, I'm known foremost for quilting. I've written over thirty books on crafts and quilting, produce and host or co-host two monthly TV series on the internet TV station I am president of, QNNtv.com. (I call myself "Chief Quilting Enabler".) I discovered quilting when I was 16 and am so lucky to work in that wonderful world.

But quilting is just one of the many wonderful parts of my life, my Rubber Duckie World. (Which you can read about here.)

And where is this world? Well, I'd argue that it's in my heart and mind. Thankfully my heart has found home in a groovy mid-century modern butterfly roof house in north Georgia where my mind is free to be. It's a magical place, from the visitor's who come by to offer up memories of fishing the lake with their grandpas, to the Blalock family who built a house of love and have accepted me - the next caretaker of this tucked away bit of heaven - into their family, to my neighbors - characters all - each one has a role in this Rubber Duckie World. But none more so than the four kitties and four horses who reveal themselves in subtle ways every day, and are teaching me volumes about myself and life. We are all blooming. It is a Rubber Duckie World!

And be sure to check out my new venture, Dixie Duckies. The tag line is "Give the Gift of a Smile." And you can do so in the form of a rubber duckies made in America -- yes, right here for the first time in decades! Each Dixie Duckie is dressed for all occasions and finished with a personalized gift tag.

Or better yet on Facebook or Twitter or share the love on Pinterest. And get the fuller scoop on me on Linkedin.

P.S. The hunka munka kitty is Mr. Possum. Rescued by Liz Nichols, she agrees that he and I were destined for each other. He's a kitty yes, but really an owl in a Maine Coon kitty fur suit. He's an author, a story teller, and an orator. The first night he came to live with me he told me stories all night long. Yes, I buy into his version of history. Who wouldn't? I mean, look at him! More from Mr. P. latter. (My dearest friend on this planet, Lee Warhurst, is not a fan of possums though is majorly of kitties (they converted him in his old age), so I call my boy "Mr. P." in his presence.)

this is a craft that was very popular during the depression. if you want to teach an easy craft to anyone who doesn't want to get bogged down in patterns or complicated instructions this book will help.

Cute little book that shows you the basics of yo-yo crafts! It shows projects to do and it also has patterns for different sizes of yo-yo's to copy in the back of the book!

The book offers little except using yo-yo's to make award ribbons. Would not buy again but it does offer basic information if you have never made a yo-yo. I will use it for a class resource but not recommend it as a great book.
