My first review, although I've bought hundreds of items on amazon.com.The only other review made me wary of buying this item, but the touch feature finally convinced me after reviewing All the other products available on amazon. I own a Mac, which made reading the instructions important. the device has built-in software for windows, but you'll need to download software from [...] for mac. The easy setup for software, and simple screen interface made it easy to load and order my pictures. The device can read several graphics file extensions. The device itself is lightweight, with the only differences that might be perceived from the picture are as follows: -the outer case border is metallic, but not chromed. The back half is still, however. -the screen is less sensitive to the cyan/red color scale, but a simple adjustment to the file fixes that if you are really concerned on true accuracy. -it comes with a lanyard w/2" length, like most cell phones. I wouldn't find a use for hanging this, but it was a good strength lanyard with a light-duty key chain loop. From the construction, it seems sturdy, while lightweight. I'd trust it to withstand a drop of 5 feet on a wooden floor, though I won't try myself. The thickness isn't seen on the picture, so I'll tell that it is as thick as a BIC pen. It's half a pen's length, and close to a third in width. Battery time is clearly shown on power-up, which would be difficult to do accidentally. You must hold the power button down for a few seconds for it to turn on. Overall, I'd purchase this again. The 4 instead of 5 was for the screens slight cyan/red color contrast variant, and the brushed aluminium looking border instead of chrome.

Won't power up, freezes my computer,

I charged it for 4 hours (as per manual). Photos loaded easily enough, but the next day it won't power up, and when reconnected to computer (Dell w/ XP) it causes freeze up. Seems like more made-in-China junk.

Nice value, nice clarity of pics, easy to load with pics. Battery does not last long, needs recharged every day or two even if not used. So so rating from me.
