5.0 out of 5 stars Bloody Brilliant, April 29, 2009
This review is from: Be Human (Audio CD)
I am amazed at how fast Fightstar puts out new albums; while being all top-notch.
First of all, look at the professional reviews for this album. They all praise this album.
Now for my review. Fightstar take their rightful place in my library of awesome rock albums. From haunting violin of the opening track "Calling all Stations" to the epic orchestrated, end-credits worthy finale "Follow Me Into the Darkness", the album brandishes 12 epic anthems, which hit you with such a force, that you find yourself staggering backwards as you reel in shock at just how amazing Charlie's (lead vocals, formerly of the pop-band "busted") voice is. He can create a wide range of vocal styles, from the muse-like vocals such as in "The whisperer", "Calling all stations", and "The Enlgish Way", to the heavy scream-your-guts-out "Deathcar" reminescent songs such as "Domacles", the end of "Colours Bleed Red", and "Chemical Blood".
I love this whole album, which took a more symphonic turn when compared to Fightstar's earlier works "One Day Son, This will be Your's" and "Grand Unification, but I must say that my favorite song, and possibly my favorite song all year, is "War Machine". Just listen to that song, the ending is epic with a full orchestra and choir.
This album is awesome (not to mention the bizarrely awesome cover art) and any fan of Fightstar and Post-hardcore and brilliant music should buy this! **Eagerly awaits next album** :D
10/10
