Romy Seleznov is a corporate consultant, certified personal trainer, teacher, and coach. She educates her clients and students about the importance of balancing the body, mind and soul to achieve optimal health and wellness. Romy Seleznov Nelson is a nutritionist, speaker and author, specializing in corporate consulting. She educates on many health and wellness topics including nutrition, fitness, and the importance of balancing the body and mind to achieve optimal health and wellness. Her book, Be Lean: How to Get the Body You Love and Love the Body You Have, was written to guide readers towards achieving peace with their bodies through positive affirmations, proper nutrition, exericse and natural health.

Romy is a certified personal trainer. She competed in eight amateur fitness/figure competitions between 1996 and 2005. Before making a career change, she served for almost ten years as a full-time health teacher and coach in a Phoenix-area public school district. Romy realized to effectively impact the quality of children's lives, it is essential to educate adults in making healthy lifestyle choices.

Since 2004, Romy has been educating individuals and groups as a professional speaker and corporate wellness program consultant. She specializes in the design and delivery of corporate wellness programs and classes. Romy also provides individual nutrition counseling and is a media spokesperson. She is adjunct Nutrition faculty at two Arizona community colleges.

Romy holds a Masters Degree in Education, as well as an AAS Degree in Dietetic Technology. She is a DTR (Dietetic Technician, Registered) and a member of the American and Arizona Dietetic Associations. She was awarded Arizona Dietetic Technician, Registered of the Year 2009.

Romy's book is wonderful. She addresses a lot of issues that most women are going thru. Her book is very different and she writes mainly about her own experience. Which is great, because then most of us can relate to her. She talks about:

1. Her personal story,

2. exercising,

3. diet,

4. the power of your mind,

5. hypothyroidism,

6. hormonal imbalances,

7. natural medicine and remedies,

8. essential oils,

9. mercury toxicity

10. and a bunch more.

I read this book very fast. I am going thru most of the imbalances and thyroid problems she went thru and I am following most of her recommendations with great success. Her diet plan is flexible and basically you create it yourself, based on the guidelines given. This for me works a lot better. The exercise routine given is very fair. If you follow it you will see results. I have lost weight and inches.

For me this book was the start of my education for my own health and to create hormonal balance. She gives many recommended reading which I have followed as well.

I gave her 5 stars because I learned a lot and this book was the beginning of my search for hormonal balancing and for losing weight. I feel many people can benefit from her book and her recommendations, especially women.

I enjoyed reading the journey of the author from discontent to pride in her body. An alternate title to her book could have been, The Power of Positive Thinking, had it not already been taken by Norman Vincent Peale!

Although the author had aspirations of participating in fitness competitions to keep her motivated -- which may exceed the average woman's goal of making, loving, and keeping a lean body -- there are many pertinent take home messages.

Perhaps, the most lingering thought that the reader will come away with is the power of desire and being able to visualize the end result when making lifestyle changes for good. If this book doesn't inspire you, nothing will.
