2.0 out of 5 stars Did not work for me!
Greer Childers is very convincing. I purchased both the Bodyflex book and the tapes even though I knew that Greer used to do the HealthRider infomercials. She once claimed that the HealthRider machine was the key to her fitness, and never mentioned Bodyflex. Now she is claiming deep breathing is the key to being slim. I decided to try her techniques anyway. I used the...

I had read many reviews, wathced many reruns of the infomercials and I never thought that a book and a tape could and would change my life. I started Body Flex as soon as I recieved them. I followed all that it said, it is SO simple. In 2 weeks I lost 20 lbs. By the end of the summer (2 months) I had lost 40 lbs.! I was shocked... It's the easiest most healthiest way to be lean and flexible. Oxygen is the healthiest thing you can put in your body other than water, and guess what? Water also HAS oxygen. Not only do you lose inches, weight and do you feel good, but also, it heals your body in more ways than you can imagine. Oh, and your energy levels SKY ROCKET the second you finish the 15 min. Simply try it, in America there are always refunds!

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone lets body flex!, January 28, 2000

Body Flex is an excellent Program.I first ordered the body flex system one year ago. The first time I tried it I was winded, one week later I lost 8 inches. I some how fell off the bandwagon and three weeks ago I got back on. I bought the book and and been doing body flex proudly for the past three weeks. Total I have lost 11 inches in 2 weeks and I can't wait to measure myself again next week.

For those of you who claim that body flex is not working for you I offer you this advise. 1.MAKE SURE YOU ARE DOING THIS ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. 2.TUCKING IN YOUR STOMACH IS VERY CRUCIAL TO THE WHOLE SYSEM. 3.LISTEN TO THE MOTIVATION TAPE BEFORE AND AFTER THE WORKOUT. 4.HOLD FOR 8 SECONDS AND DON.T DROP YOUR STOMACH. This is a great concept and If I can get everyone convinced I will!

5.0 out of 5 stars Greer Childers is a Godsend!, August 28, 2000
By
"erin--" (New York, New York USA) - See all my reviews
When I first picked up BE A LOSER! I did not expect it to work at all, and figured I would return it. I had been dieting for five weeks, and the puonds had stopped moving down, so I figured it couldn't hurt to try. I WAS PROVEN WRONG! In the first week I lost 5 1/2 inches. Although the book says an inch loss of 4-14 inches is normal (and I was on the low end), I was thrilled. Think how long that would take with normal excersize...I've never gotten results like those walking, running, playing sports, etcetera. I've continued to lose pounds (at around 3-5 a week), which is mighty impressive, since though I try to work on my eating, Butterfingers do make their way into my diet! For one week straight, I ate a huge mozerella and bacon omlette for breakfast, followed my Haagen-Daaz topped with heavy cream...I didn't gain ANY weight, and it is due to Bodyflex. Normally, a binge week like that would have added at LEAST 5 or 6 pounds. You might not lose 14 inches the first week, but you will become tighter all over, and if you eat right (and sometimes, even if you don't), you will see result more quickly than any excersize and many eating programs. I have done almost everything (many I would NEVER reccommend), but Bodyflex, hokey as it seems, is the real deal. I am still in the proces of losing weight, but I know this program will ensure that once I reach goal, I'll never have to lose weight again. Greer- THANK YOU!

4.0 out of 5 stars Skeptics - it does work!, November 5, 2004
By
L. B. Redmond "gingermom" (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I am a satisfied BodyFlex customer. Forget the hype, forget about trying to look like Greer Childers, forget the chirpy tone of the book, forget the FCC lawsuit. The breathing and exercises combined do work. I am sorry to hear that Childers marketed another piece of exercise equipment making the same claims, because that will lower her credibility, but I can tell you that BodyFlex simply does deliver what it promises. Childers never said you would lose weight, and she never said it was easy. Many people think it looks too easy, not like "real" exercise. Done properly, it is not easy. But you will feel better, look better, and lose inches (everybody I know has lost inches on this program, but most people are too lazy even to keep up 15 minutes a day).

BREATHING - The breathing most assuredly is not dangerous; it clears your head, sinuses, bronchial tubes. One friend with asthma said it made her nauseous but that it did clear up her breathing. It gives you incredible energy. Childers says BodyFlex is the opposite of yoga. I think she's wrong about this - like most Americans, she does not know what yoga really is (it's not just an easy, gentle system of stretches and meditative breathing). It is simply not true that yogic breathing is all slow and gentle; there are many forms of yoga, and some do use fast inhalations and exhalations and snapping of the diaphragm. I believe BodyFlex breathing is based on some form of yoga and is probably very old. (In my own practice, I have added a few key yoga postures to the BodyFlex workout to make it more well-rounded.)

DIET - Most people will never look like Childers no matter what they do, but I can tell you BodyFlex will stabilize your weight so you don't have to be on a reducing diet. Of course you have to eat sensibly - no exercise program is going to benefit you if you're eating junk food all day. Childers does have some odd ideas about food and advocates a fairly restricted diet, but you don't have to eat such a drastic diet to be fit. This book is not the place to go for diet advice. If you've read up on this subject at all you probably know how to eat a healthy, sensible diet, you just don't do it.

ENERGY - The energy you get is real and you can feel it from the first day. I remember being tired and sluggish from the time I was in my '20s; I started doing BodyFlex after my fifth child, at the age of 43, and now at almost 50 I still do it every day. I'm afraid NOT to do it because my energy level and ability to balance a busy life depends on that 15 minutes of exercise and breathing every morning.

Sorry if this sounds like a commercial, but I'm hooked. I am sorry the FCC has made such a mess with a lawsuit. It's too bad - you would think they'd have criminals to catch, instead of zeroing in on people who just want to improve their lives by becoming healthier. If you read the FCC papers you will notice that not one of the detractors has actually tried this system, even for a week. They are basing their skepticism on diet and fitness experts, but we all know that experts and scientists can be wrong. Try this for one week. Incidentally, you don't need the videos - just the book; and just a few chapters, at that. Get started right away and see what it does for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZED. Saved my Life, Gave me energy, May 23, 2005
I started this program over 4 yrs ago, I used the advance system first, and thought I was going crazy, I woke my husband up one night after doing the workout for four days , and told him to take me to the hospital, I thought I was going crazy. My Mind was raceing. It would not turn off. He told me to calm down and relaze LOL, He said it was the workout, that I was not ready for the advance,
But that was due to the fact I was doing the advance breatheing, and never should have . I needed to do the beginners.

Now I was bedridden for over a year, I had four surgeries on my lower back. I gain so much weight and was so out of shape. I was unable to do any type of workout, or so I thought, until I tried this. It saved my life, and I mean that. I went from a size 22 to a 12 within 4 months. When I started seeing the inches going off, I then wanted to watch what I ate, and wanted to drink all the water I could. It just changed my life. I never had pain while doing this.

The FCC and their claims are WRONG> I believe it was some owners of other equipment for working out and diet plans who tried to ruin Greer. Because everyone I know who has tried this, lost inches.
U must do the breathing right. Everyone wanted to know what I was doing, so I showed them all the steps.

Greer is an angel to me. I do not care what anyone says,
THIS WORKS

5.0 out of 5 stars If It Doesn't Work for You, You're Not Doing it Right, November 18, 2001
By A Customer
A friend told me about this technique last summer and I pooh-poohed it--until I saw her six weeks later. She looked terrific. I bought the book the next day and have been on the program for 7 weeks. I have lost over 16 inches and am still going strong.

I have spent thousands of dollars on personal trainers, gyms, exercise equipment, and diet programs. This one really works. So far, 12 of my friends have purchased the book and are on the program.

I've missed two days since I started the workout and now can't imagine my life without it. I've dropped a size and am fitting into clothes I haven't worn in two years. My double chins are gone.

Thanks, Greer. You have really made me a believer.

I bought the book thinking that it was just more hype. To my surprise, this really works! I have found that I had to do it just as the book says or I didn't see results. The breathing is the key! I have been doing the exercises for a year now and I have lost over 14 inches overall. There is no way that I can weigh what I do and wear the size of clothes that I'm in. I look better and definitely feel better. I can tell a difference in how I feel at the end of the day when I haven't done my exercises. This may not work for everyone, but it certainly did for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, May 26, 2001
By A Customer
As a former bodybuilder and fitness queen at 16% bodyfat, I was skeptical that something so easy could work, but I knew the principles were sound. Over the last few years I had let myself get fat and out of shape, and I've made many attempts to motivate myself to get back into the gym. I knew how much hard work it took to get and keep a lean, fit body, and from how far I had to go (50+ lbs), I knew it would take soooo long. It was discouraging to the point where I just kept quitting. ...I decided to bite the bullet and try this program.

I've been doing it now 5 days and yesterday someone at work asked if I've been losing weight! I started seeing some definition in my upper arms, and today I see a beautiful line in my front thigh that I haven't seen in years. I'm more muscular than most women from those years and years of lifting, but the muscle is covered with fat. Now the fat is moving out and the smooth clean lines are coming back! I wish I'd taken Greer's advice and measured myself before I started.

I've read the reviews from people for whom this didn't work, and I know from my weight lifting days that lots of people who *think* they're doing it right, really aren't. Nobody is going to write a review and say "I did everything wrong and I didn't get any results!" OF COURSE they think they did it right. But without someone who's had success *show* them and coach them, they will probably continue thinking it's the program, not their technique.

I am suggesting this to my overweight friends and family members now. I feel terrific and after only 5 days, I'm seeing improvement in the mirror! It'd take weeks of bodybuilding and running to make this kind of progress. I'm thrilled!!

5.0 out of 5 stars To those for whom BodyFlex didn't work:, January 22, 2000
By
Kathleen (Missoula, MT) - See all my reviews
I've noticed the vast majority of people loved this book, and really are impressed with their results. Then there are a few for whom the results are less than impressive. That's understandable. NOTHING works for everybody. But the tone of their negative reviews leaves me wondering. Fine, Bodyflex didn't work for you, thanks for telling the rest of us, we appreciate the input, but do you have to infer that the rest of us who did get results are LIARS? I'm sorry the book didn't help you guys, but the program worked for me, and the vast majority of the rest of the reviewers. That should make negative reviewers pause & wonder, instead of announcing to the world what an *unequivocal* waste of time & money Bodyflex is. The program is 5 stars, as far as I'm concerned. After 20 years of struggling with them, my saddlebags are finally gone! I never thought I'd see the day!

5.0 out of 5 stars Seein is Believin, February 29, 2000
My first instinct was to scoff at the concept of breathing to loose weight as some hocus-pocus a la snake-potion scheme to make big bucks. After all, I was someone who believed in the orthodox and conventional school of fitness. Someone who does advanced step aerobics, weight training ,a daily abdominal regimen and watch what I eat. But no matter what, I still could not get rid of those love handles on my waist.

Then after reading all the testaments here, I decided I had nothing (but those love handles that is) to loose. After a week on the specific exercises for the abdominals/waist, I am proud to declare that the love handles have shrunk & practically disappeared, my waist is smaller and my abs tighter. I also noticed that the cheeks on my face are more chiselled and cheekbones more prominent. WOW...what a deal. Now I spend 15 mins every morning doing BodyFlex and feel refreshed with boundless energy before I head for work. For those on a regular exercise programme, I strongly urge you to use BodyFlex to supplement your work out and you will break all plateaus !

I have a caveat though : If you have an inherent weak back like me, exercise caution on some of the exercises like "The Swipe" for lower back. I strained myself doing this one and had to see a chiro. Other than this,I think that BodyFlex indeed a miraculous programme. The Book is inspiring and best of all you get RESULTS and an invigorated brand-new you. Forget all those silly gadgets in the infommericals which require you to fork out a bomb. With BodyFlex you get everything...and I mean EVERYTHING. 3 Cheers to Greer Childers.

P.S. : The BodyFlex programme is not available in Singapore. Could someone help me please ? Thnks.
