The First Of Many Inspiring Albums,
By Dark Ninja (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Be a Man (Audio CD)
There is no way you will ever get closer to the utopia you experience when you listen to this outstanding album. I hope for the sake of every being in the universe that we will see many, many more Macho Man albums in the future. When I first caught a glance of this CD at Walmart, I turned and fell to my knees while time literally stopped. Once I regained consciousness I quickly filled a crate with the album and handed the cashier a flying elbow drop! When I placed the CD onto the tray of my stereo system, I knew at once that my life had culminated to that point, my purpose was to witness the sick, wicked, and nasty beats that were about to pulsate through the earth itself and energize my very life force. When the tray recalled itself back into the stereo console, it was as though the final puzzle piece of human existence had been put into place. Rainbows began to pour inexplicably out of the speakers and onto my terrace. The windows flew open and The Macho Man himself floated in on a winged platinum unicorn. He gave me a $5 gift certificate at Radio Shack and told me that I was the chosen one. He said that He and I would lead mankind out of poverty and strife forever. He said we must hurry, unimaginable evils were gathering and following him and there was not much time before he would have to face them. As we prepared to embark a low rumble could be heard in the distance. Hardly decipherable at first, but it began to grow louder, and apparently closer. The sky darkened rapidly and took on a red-orange tint. The rumble grew exponentially louder and more fierce, and the ground began to shake. Without warning an enormous crack in the planet's surface appeared and a great mountain of rock and molten lava shot up from the center of the earth with the force of ten trillion mighty buffalo. Satan himself stood before us, in all of his evil majesty. Despite this apocalyptic series of events, Randy was not at all intimidated. He stood fast, and with a mighty cry of 'OOOOOOHHH YEAHHHHHH!' he was suddenly 250 feet tall and was made entirely of gold. Satan lunged towards Savage with blinding speed, but The Macho Man was suddenly gone. Satan spun back around just in time for a vicious Macho Man drop kick to the throat. Again, Savage disappeared, leaving Satan dazed and confused. As Satan tried to recover Randy leapt at him from out of nowhere with a punishing sunset flip, sending The Dark Lord directly into a black hole on the other side of the universe. Savage explained to me how his musical talents inspired the Greek God Zeus, and so Zeus gave him super powers and ultrasonic vocal cords. I told him he's the illest, the true chief warrior. The bottom line is I used to steal cars and buses all the time, but ever since I heard this album I only smash fire hydrants. I no longer sleep or eat or talk, I just absorb the lyrical extremes that this album surpasses time and again and train to fight The Hulkster. Everything that you've ever done, are doing now, or will ever do is a complete waste of time unless it directly involves Randy 'Macho Man' Savage. If you don't own this album, I sincerely hope that this review has helped you realize what a clueless and wretched piece of waste you really are. And seriously Hogan, be a man for once in your life. If you just take the beating maybe Savage won't banish you from the universe....OOOOOOOHHH YEEEAAAHHHHH!!! I just crapped on myself.

AN EXISTENTIAL HEADLOCK TO PARADIGM VICTORY IN THE RAP ARENA,
By Persona Progresiva "sh!" (Berwyn, Il United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Be a Man (Audio CD)
Randy Macho Man Savage's excursion into the hip-hop arena represents an pivotal moment for American culture and civilization. In creating his recording, "Be A Man", Savage throws out all conventional ways and approaches to artistic expression and replaces them with new structures and processes of analyzing the age-old problematics brought about by human conflict, identity and belonging.
Savage manages to do this by utilizing a multi-disciplinary, consilient approach (which E.O. Wilson would be proud of) by synthesising elements of American popular culture such as wrestling and hip hop. In Sartre's existentialist tradition, Macho utilizes the elements available in his times and environment to revalidate and giving meaning to what had become a meager existence, while at the same time elevating & liberating the rest of humanity to another level of meaningful existence. Examples of this new paradigm of human expression abound in this ouevre. From the cd cover photo, which shows Mr. Macho manipulating the chains which symbolize the possibility of humanity's ability to break away from the chains of oppression that enslave us all and prevent us from leading a truly meaningful existence, to his aptly named title track, "Be A Man" which utilizes his rivalry with Hulk Hogan as a metaphor for the conflict between a superficial and unfulfilling material existence and a meaningful and rich human spiritual existence. This truly is a paradigmatic change that T. Kuhn would find exemplary. This is a seminal must for any one's artistic recordings collection, for it is destined to be a classic and the topic of scholarly and intellectual discussions for quite some time. Five stars is not enough to show the importance of this recording. Perhap all the stars in the Ursa Major constellation would be more fitting.

Macho Hits is more like it!!!,
This review is from: Be a Man (Audio CD)
The only reason this album didn't get 5 stars, is due to the fact that after 1 full listen, I went on a frenzy of eating nothing but slim jims for 3 months straight and drinking red bulls to wash them down causing 6 heart attacks, 11 arrests, and 3 restraining orders, bottom line is, you don't want macho man all up in your grill, because this cd will snap you like a slim jim, in the words of randy savage himself "ohhhh yeah"
RIP Elizabeth

greatest album ever,
This review is from: Be a Man (Audio CD)
This album was not created by a mere mortal. This album was made by God himself, and handed down to the greatest rapper of our time, Randy Savage. Macho Man shows range that the written word just doesnt do justice. If this album doesnt go platinum 10 times over than the greatest tragedy of our generation has occured. Move over Sgt. Pepper, the greatest album ever is ready to take its throne.

Musical genius at its very best...,

When I was just a small child, my mother told me that God could work miracles. I never believed her until now. Randy "Macho Man" Savage is a God amongst men. Period. Exclamation Point. There are only two words to describe his gift for making music: Life Changing. The title track, "Be a Man", is so hard hitting and raw that I nearly peed myself with fear. Let me tell you something: I definitely would NOT want to be Hulk Hogan. If I were the Hulkster, I'd be shaking in my shinny yellow boots. Yo, Hogan, [...] and throw down with the Macho Man. Savage's flows are lyrical poetry. Listening to his vocal wizardry makes me feel like less of a man. His massive unabashed testosterone on the tracks is quite often overwhelming. If I were a chick, I'd definitely let him savage me. In fact, I would him savage me right now. I'm not gay, but it would be well worth it if some of that rhyming skill were to rub off on me. But seriously folks, "Perfect Friend" is amazingly touching. Puff Daddy's tribute to Biggie Smalls seems almost crass in comparison. R.I.P. Mr. Perfect. In conclusion, you must stop reading this review and go buy this album. Be A Man is the London Calling of rapping wrestler albums. Take it from me, a complete idiot.
P.S. Be A Man, Hogan!

Don't be scurred. Es muss sein!,
By
This review is from: Be a Man (Audio CD)
In the tradition of the great composers, the Macho Man (or, more apt in this context, the Macho King) has, in his autumnal years, created some of the most profound and searching works in Western art.But whereas Bach chose the ancient fugal form to test his compositional prowess in "Die Kunst Der Fuge", Savage decides to exhibit his complete mastery of the hip-hop form in "Be A Man". And Macho proves to be the most impressive of the two, for it is much more difficult to write music of such awe-inspring beauty as an iconoclast than as a regurgitator of archaic ideas. And when since Beethoven's late string quartets has anyone so plumbed the depths of human experience as the Macho King has here? Even the Cavatina from the fifth movement of Beethoven's Op. 130 cannot compare with the gravitas of this utterance from Macho's crew: "C'mon don't be scurred, you're afraid of Macho Man is what I heard". Simply stunning. In sum, this is an incomparable masterwork and an invaluable musical document. It deserves to be heard by all ears (and all ears deserve to hear it), for one cannot claim to have knowledge of music, or indeed humanity itself, until one lives with this album. Although Bach and Beethoven waited until their final works to express their innermost thoughts in music, if we are lucky, there will be many more Macho compositions to come. Savage urges us to "Feel The Madness", but one would have to be mad not to buy "Be A Man".

Simply Stunning,

I was an overweight idiot who locked myself in the bathroom for hours snacking on munchos until I heard 'Be a Man' by Macho Man himself. Ive now lost all my baby fat and am eligible for the hit TV show The Swan. I felt like he was speaking to me in the song 'ru ready' when he said "Cuz when I perform they all swarm like bees and I rock the show with the greatest of ease" and it really showed me that I can make a difference. This hot fire scores me the hottest babes when Im blasted it in the Coupe De Ville on spinners and when Im in the ring working on th dragon sleeper. I can now bench press 500 pounds and eat a steak sandwich at the same time. Listen to the hot rhymes and maybe someday you can be like me...or should I say "Be a Man." Hahahahahahaha. Go Macho!!

OH YEAH RANDY'S SLIM JIM,
By W. Smith "Randy's boy toy" (Kansas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Be a Man (Audio CD)
LOOK OUT!.!.! Are those flying elbow drops or mad phat beats. The lyrics on this track hit u like a double axe handle on the back of the head from the top rope. I sat intently listening to the album as I ate my Slim Jims fondling my man tackle to BoneSaw's lyrical opus. The album's dope content made me saturate my pants almost as much as the VHS of Randy Savage's bulging muscular guns glistening in sweat under the lights of the ring. Oh Yeah! Listening to this album opens the secret door to the magical land of The Macho States of Savage and deep into the mind of this complex and shining soul. After the third track I realized who killed Biggie and 2pac it was the the new king of the rap game and he is ever so chiseled. I would love to plunder his "savage" lands. While he is only wearing his signature cowboy hat and glasses. As you read my chub is pulsating with anticipation of Slim Jims in my sphincter. "Be A Man" is what elevated rap to the nonsense smack a ho style it is today. The beats flow through your senses creating a cornucopia of musical eroticism. Not since The Beatles has an album taking the music industry by storm. The lyrics are as amazing as the fact that Randy Savage's machismo can be contained by only one pair pants. It's amazing is zipper doesn't burst spewing Randy's ever-so-talented seed over the earth like the plague. His timing and flow grab you by loins and sucks you in. Forget titles forget money forget tv shows after wrestling Macho proves why he is The Macho King.... Fort's mom snaps into a Slim Jim.... HI OH

macho man randy save fills the air with integrity and ambition in his newest creation "be a man". randy savage is garunteed to rock your house from dusk til dawn. my personal favorite is "perfect friend" dedicated to his long time buddy Mr. perfect, im sure that mr. perfect will rise from the dead to thank the macho man for the most powerful and brilliance of his lyrics. i recently just got back from visiting my sick grandmother in the hostpital, shes 72 and dying of cancer they say that she only has 3 weeks to live. so while i was in the hostpital i braught my cdplayer and macho man randy savage, put it in for her and she jumped right out of her hospital bed and got her groove on to the song "feel the madness", not to mention giving the doctor a lap dance during the song "remember me". if u r still not wanting to buy this cd is either because u cant read or because u hate urself!!!! this cd explodes with pure insanity as macho man randy savage tears up the mic with heart pounding vocals that will shake the roof off of the white house, and send electrical currents through george bushs vains sending him into shock! his lyrics will slide through ur ear canal and into ur brain giving u massive brain cancer. randy savage proves that white men can rap even if they r 67 year old retired wrestlers with no life. everyday i will listen to randy and wish i could be at the clubs with him gettin lap dances and harassing gay men.
