Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

"A friend understands when you want to be alone... and when you don't." Elmo, Big Bird, Ernie, and the other well-loved Sesame Street characters show young readers what friendship is all about. Together, friends sing, swing, dress up, and mess up in this simple little book. Adorable, colorful pictures and lilting, repetitive text ensure that children will want to return again and again to this book with its positive message (mercifully lacking in moralizing). A nice contemporary touch: girls use tools to fix things for boys, and boys bake together. Anna Ross is faithful to the friendly Sesame Street educational style: never preaching and quietly funny. The book is printed on super-sturdy pages, perfect for the grabby hands of eager readers. (Ages 3 to 6) --Emilie Coulter

From the Inside Flap

Whether they're tasting, pasting, sliding, or riding, the Sesame Street characters as toddlers are busy demonstrating the positive aspects of having a friend.

Format: Hardcover
This lilting little book is a joy to read and to memorize (with the repeated reads you're sure to have requested) ...but its simple lines can be discussed page by page with examples appropriate to the maturity of your readers - and.... look a little more closely... The examples can have mature parallels with your closest friends and in your marraige. We enjoyed it from the library and are purchasing a copy for our home!

Format: Hardcover
I ordered this book for my 3 year old to encourage him on the subject of making friends. The story is very simplistic and better for children as young as 1 years old, but it does gives us things to discuss.
As for the condition of the book, I bought it used through Amazon and the condition was listed as good. When I received it the book was dirty with bite marks on the outside cover.

Nice story but dirty condition.
