...it is literally jam packed. Each cut is a delicious serving of reeaaal R & Bee balladry! It has what I consider one of the Top Ten all time Greatest--I say Greatest!--Soul/R & Bee Vocal Ballads ever done! The great "Be My Girl" penned by Michael Henderson. But that's the last track on this collection. Which means unless you cheat and skip tracks, you have to WAIT TO HEAR IT....but worry not, y'all. You will better off playing it in sequence in its entirety. It has that "I'll put a hold on your check" catchline used in many a brother's 2 AM club rap (follow me, now) and the beggin' LJ Reynolds goin' into "aw, baaaa-bee, please, babybabybaby, please" vocal overdrive in the perfect "I Can't Get Over You"...it has another classic and perfect tune "Welcome Back Home". Why are you wasting time readin' this? You're missing out on a great, great CD....

One night- really late- I was driving home, and "Treat Me Like A Man" came on the radio. I knew it sounded familiar, but hearing it then seemed like something out of this world. I didn't know who it was that sang it or the name of the song, but I listened closely, and recognized LJ Reynold's voice, and knew then that it was "The Fabulous Dramatics"!

Other songs on this disk, "Just Shopping (Not Buying Anything)", "Be My Girl", "In The Rain", and others were the soundtrack to my life when I was growing up. This is when 'studio talent' was not even a term anyone was familiar with- the boys could sing! Their vocals and harmonization, are beautifully put together and is evident form the first song to the last.

The only song I was really missing was "Fell For You". Other than that, I have no complaints.....with the exception that my father now has my copy of this disk!!

I'd recommend this one for lovers, soul cats, and those who just enjoy damn good music!

When I was a kid growing up in Detroit, the fellas and I would blow harmony on the street corner to the cuts the Dramatics had recorded. Songs like In The Rain, Door To Your Heart, Just Shopping (Not Buying Anything), I Can't Get Over You, Be My Girl, and Stop Your Weeping just to name a few, were songs we wore out listening to and singing. However, a complete CD of all the drama the Dramatics displayed must include this CD, and other hits such as Toast to a fool, Whatcha see is whatcha get, Fell for you, Get up get down, Thank you for your love, Hey You! get off my mountain, And I panicked, I dedicate my life to you, You're fooling you, Finger fever, Shake it well, Now you got me loving you, Beautiful people, Say the word, Never let you go, Somewhere in time, One love ago, When love is over, Trying to get over losing you, I cried all the way home, Me, myself and I, Good things don't come easy, I get carried away, I was the life of the party, After this dance, Don't make me no promises, Choosing up on you, Tune up, I'm in love (Dells/ Dramatics), and last but not least, Love is missing from our lives (Dells/Dramatics). Put together this CD (Be My Girl: Their Greatest Love Songs), and the other hits I recommended and you have a collection that would be priceless!

I recently purchased this CD, what can I tell you it was like tasteing vintage champagne. I wanted more,the only negative was they left out my favorite Dramatics song life of the party. Otherwise a great cd Just shopping not buying, if your not a fan this song will seal the deal. The intro alone is worth the price of the cd and Ron Bank's falsetto(unbelieve able). My recommendation buy it now!

"I-I-I'm spaced out over this cd...ooh I don't know what to do..." Yes, it's outstanding. As a major Dramatics fan coming of age in the 70's in DC...well...if you're anything like me, you will absolutely LOVE this collection. It's hard to pick my favorites, but I'll try: 2,3,7 (yes!), 12 (yes!), 13, and 15 (yes!). They don't make music like that anymore...totally romantic without being vulgar or explicit, like the stuff today, even from the promising newcomers like Jill Scott. At least the old school stuff can be played with kids in the room.

The Dramatics should rightfully be considered one of the best R&B vocal groups EVER!!! The vocal interplay of LJ Reynolds and Ron Banks is even better than Ruffin and Kendricks. The Dramatics are another group often overlooked because they bounced around several labels and were overshadowed by the Motown machine. This album showcases the Dramatics at their best...singing stone cold slow songs that have aged incredibly well. In my opinion only one other R&B group has the sheer volume of quality slow songs as the Dramatics (The Isley Bros.). Be My Girl is a classic, so is In the Rain, so is Just Shopping, etc. Once you buy this you'll definitely want to pick up vol.2 of their love songs which showcases some of their less known cuts. The scary thing is vol.2 surprised me. It was just as good, which gives the Dramatics 30 amazingly beautiful slow jams. How many groups in any genre of music can say that?
Yo Kanye West/Twista how could you leave the Dramatics out of the list of artists you mention in your hit song? Joking....

Ahhhh Man!!! This is it! Be My Girl is my favorite track on this CD. I love them all, but that's my pick. The Dramatics is another soulful group that fired up the "I remember when..." base way back when. Artists today are good, but they don't even come close to these guys and others like them. Their music is classic and timeless. Love it! Love it! Love it!

This is it. All the Dramatics you will ever need. Everything is here! I am loving this CD! All you "old schooler's" out there, do NOT sleep on this one!
