Most of Michaelson's songs have multiple vocal parts and together, they create a complex harmony superior than any loop peda or Mac effect. This is apparent in "The Chain". The song is three part vocal canon that is a powerhouse of emotion. Dependent entirely on the vocals for impact, the piano is subtle enough to accompany without detracting from the vocals. It really takes three singers to pull this one off. This record is full of pop gems.

I've been a fan of Ingrid's for over a year now, and I have to say this is her best album yet!!!! The perfect blend of original songs, live recordings, and covers, this CD is a must have for any Ingrid fan or follower of the "coffeehouse" genre. Ingrid's songs are both healing and inspiring. Out of all of her great songs, my favorite tracks are "The Chain", "Lady in Spain", and "Keep Breathing". This CD is also a small taste of the fun and incredible experience of seeing Ingrid live in concert. I love this album. Ingrid's smooth vocals carry the listener through the album from her very first word to the very last.

I did not anticipate being surprised by these tracks since I've seen Ingrid live many times, but these tracks still seemed as fresh and alive to me as when I first heard them.

cd is ok, bought because I think she is a gifted singer but I would really like to see her do some really great stuff as she has the potential to do so...

Ingrid has released a strong album as a follow up to her previous CD, Girls and Boys. Very melodic and wonderfully mellow songs.

Also you will find the single "Keep Breathing" that was featured in the 2007 season finale of Grey's Anatomy.

My only complaint about the CD is it was still in a limited number of stores. I went to 3 or 4 stores on the release day before I found one that carried it. However, it was well worth the traveling. Lady in Spain and The Chain are my two favorites, but with Ingrid's talent, the whole album is a treat just like her live performances.

If more than half the songs on a CD are good, you have spent your money well. All the tracks on this CD are great!

I own another album of Ingrid Michaelson, "Everybody." And that album made me fall in love with her voice and her music. This album is also good... however, the CD packageing is pretty simple... and there is NO lyric book... I mean, if I only need the music I would just by the MP3s. Buying CD for me is for collecting.... I'm a little disappointed when I see the CD design... The music on the CD is great, though.

A lot of these songs can be found in her other albums (although they aren't live), but there are also new ones, which make the whole CD fantastic! Other than the fact that you can buy those another album and have the same songs, the album's perfecto! I love her songs, 'You and I,' 'Giving Up,' and 'Lady in Spain.' I can relate to almost all of her songs and just to make a long story short, her real voice is exactly that: real. If you want beauty and girl power and strength, look no further than Ingrid Micahelson. All of her songs are gorgeous! Her music and lyrics devine, their simple rawness (in some) daring and heartfelt, their laughable cutness (You and I) contagious and catchable.
