1.0 out of 5 stars Basically a summary of "Advanced Selling Strategies"
This book is basically a summary of the earlier book "Advanced Selling Strategies". If repetition is the "mother of learning" then sure buy it, else I'd just re-read the previous book.

5.0 out of 5 stars 21 key steps to sales success, June 16, 2004
By A Customer
This great book by Brian Tracy makes a great supplement to Advanced Selling Strategies. Tracy feels that only small differences in attitude and ability separate top salespeople from average salespeople. When you learn and apply Tracy's 21 great ways to be a superstar salesperson, you will quickly move to the top of your field.

This book is meant to be an overview of the top 21 ways to become a superstar salesman. It is small enough to fit into your briefcase or purse for ladies, review before sales calls or on coffee breaks.

For more indepth strategies and advice I recommend strongly Brian Tracy's Advanced Selling Strategies. Using the advice from both of these books will turbocharge your sales career.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must reading for all serious sales people, December 7, 2005
This review is from: Be a Sales Superstar: 21 Great Ways to Sell More, Faster, Easier in Tough Markets (Paperback)
This is not a overview of Brians other book, it is a condensed, easy to read guide for new and advanced sales people alike. It is not intended to be a all inclusive sales training program, read Advanced Sales Strategies or The Psychology of Selling for that.

This great book unveils the top qualities to become a super salesperson. If you read it and practice the advice herein, you will reach your sales goals.

As usually overlook n egative reviewers and did that again before buying this great new book by Brian Tracy. What a shame that some people live such boring lives that they have nothing better to do than bash books they never bought or read.

Be A Sales Superstar is fresh and new. It is not the same as Tracy's 457 page Advanced Selling Strategies. How could it be? This book is less than half that size.

This book discloses the top 21 habits of super successful salespeople. Whether n ew or experienced this book canhelp you be all that you want to be in your selling career.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Big Little Book, December 10, 2005
This review is from: Be a Sales Superstar: 21 Great Ways to Sell More, Faster, Easier in Tough Markets (Paperback)
This book may not be a swelling 400 pages like Tracy's Advanced Selling Strategies. At 154 pages, Be A Sales Superstar is smaller than your average book but packed with useful information like presenting, overcoming objections, educating the customer, the AIDA model and more.

This book makes a great companion to Advanced Selling Strategies and The Psychology of Selling.

Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Insightful framework excelling in sales, May 15, 2002
Brian Tracy is a highly respected speaker and top business consultant whose seminars, audio tapes, video tapes and other programs are known around the world. In this book he discusses the techniques, motivation, training and other factors necessary to excel in the world of sales.

At first it appeared to be yet another book on how to sell, repeating the same concepts as other similar books. However, as I read through it I became aware that there was something different about this book. Some of the information was more up to date and some of it had different nuances that I had not been exposed to but there was still something else that made this book different. Finally I realized what it was. The book is a study of how to grow a sales superstar. Looking at it again I realized that it starts with the basics of committing to excellence moves through becoming a sales consultant and dealing with objections and ends with managing your territory.

The chapters are actually organized in a logical order that portrays the growth of the sales person as well as the process of making the sale from beginning to end. As a result, even though about eighty percent of the book is nothing new, it is a really useful book that helps put the jumbled advice of other books into perspective as a total process. Figure out where you are at on this continuum and you can figure out what you have to do to move to the next level.

If you've read a lot of other sales books it is still worth the price just for this level of organization and insight. If you are just starting and looking for ways to become a superstar then start here. It may be all that you need, but if it is not then it at least establishes an organized total framework in which to work and understand other books and/or courses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended!, July 29, 2002
After 25 books on selling, you might think that Brian Tracy's well would be running dry. Luckily that's not entirely the case, although this latest effort lacks some of the crispness and innovation that characterized Tracy's earlier work. Be a Sales Superstar is at its best when dealing with the daily grind of selling: presenting your product, overcoming objections and closing the deal. We from getAbstract highly recommend this book for its creative and effective techniques in each of these critical areas.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Big Little Book - A Salesman's Primer, May 6, 2002
By A Customer
In "Be a Sales Superstar..." readers will find no Mr. Jones, Aw, shucks, hot tips. "Success stories," while essential to building credibility in an actual sales presentation, merely pad a book. If a person has purchased a book, then it's a little late for the author to be worried about establishing credibility!

21 commonly known areas of the 'art of selling' are concisely discussed and readers are encouraged to insert their own business situations into each scenario.

Each chapter is very brief - the longest is 12 pages, (and this one does contain an anecdote, which is a plug for Tracy's seminars and not inappropriate in its context - "Continuous Learning"). The remaining chapters are each only a few pages in length and get right to the point.

Tracy teaches that one's weakest skill lowers the bar for all other skills. He suggests that small improvements in ability can make a huge difference in results and turn an average salesperson into a star performer.

As you complete each chapter of the book, the Action Exercises offer an opportunity for practical application of the information just read, which helps one to discover areas in which improvement is needed.

Upon finishing the book, I brainstormed an entire day and came up with some new ideas. It made me rethink my prospecting approach. I improved my phone spiel.

The book provides a practical means of reevaluating the many facets of your sales technique. You will find something useful in this book worth more than its price. Discover your weaknesses and be one of the Super Stars! I am recommending it to my team.
