This is a great song from a great album performed by a great artist. I don't know to what Ms B is referring, but it has nothing to do with this artist or his music. Buy with confidence and see for yourself.

I purchased this song in hopes that it might answer the question it raises, a question I have been asking "God knows Who" for some time now without satisfaction. I don't get why guys who have that "bleached black" look try to sound like soul singers, but then I don't know if this is a "promotional" song or a a real one, I have had a hard time distinguishing between the...

I like the quality of Langhorne Slim's voice and that the song "grabs" me and draws me in. I didn't expect to answer any life changing questions like the first reviewer though.

Another freebee that was totally worth it, `Be Set Free' by Langhorne Slim is just a spectacular folk rock ballad with inspirational lyrics and a great deal of soul. Just listening to the growl (subtle yet audible) in Langhorne's voice stirred my emotions. I loved the way he played with this style, this message and created something unique and identifiable.
I'm a huge fan of folk music (modern folk I should specify) and so this was like one of those hidden gems you find and totally gush all over. I want to laud this site for giving someone like Langhorne the spotlight, since it would be easy to overlook this kind of an artist (I mean, how popular IS folk music really?) in favor of something more accessible. Hopefully this freebee will spark interest in those who may not have normally given him a shot. With a beautiful and soulful delivery, Langhorne really stands out for me as one to watch. I love the aged quality of this song. It really carries with it the respect for the genre and the authentic flare that makes a song like this feel raw and poignant. You can feel the depth of meaning in each of Langhorne's words. He feels this, and so you feel this.
