More About the Author

Charles L. Mashburn was born in Borger, Texas, but grew up in the small farming community of Buckeye, Arizona, just southwest of Phoenix. He traveled extensively as a commercial construction superintendent, returning to Texas in 1989 when the central part of the state began to boom. Charles spent the last 9 years of his construction career working for Texas Parks & Wildlife, doing renovation and new construction in state parks and historical sites. After retiring in May of 2010, he moved to College Station, with his wife Sherry. He is now pursuing a second career in writing.

I usually start my day with a devotional and this book is one of my favorites.

When a verse is put into layman terms and it clicks with you it really makes a difference and makes you feel really good inside.

This book should give hope to all who are praying for a loved one's return to Christ, or desiring to strengthen their own faith.

Charlie truly allows God to speak through him. His devotionals are very simplistic, leaving nothing to question and they speak to you in such a way that you feel your best friend is talking to you. If you desire a devotional that will leave you smiling, pondering, knowing you are human yet forgiven, this devotional is for you!

A wonderful book for those desiring to grow closer to God. Simply put in layman's language, but so on the mark regarding God's love for all of us, and so Charlie. I pray before reading each morning and find comfort in the beautiful picture of his mother praying on the cover. This book should give hope to all who are praying for a loved one's return to Christ, or desiring to strengthen their own faith. You will love it.

I Pamela, grew up going to church and continued on into my adulthood. I have to admit that I have not read the bible much as it is very hard for me to grasp so that is why I love this book. Charles gives us his own interpretation of what the verse means and it actually makes sense to me. When a verse is put into layman terms and it clicks with you it really makes a difference and makes you feel really good inside. I think everyone that doesn't really know the bible that well would get a lot out of this book. I highly recommend it.
