Book Description

February 2, 2009
You who have searched for spiritual sustenance, having turned away time again from some religion, guru or Master and are still unfulfilled, the reason being that most paths to awakening have been corrupted through the mistranslation of scriptures that neglect to address contemporary concerns in such a way that neutralizes the unconsciousness of the world today: Be not dismayed, for in your hands now rests the most direct path to Knowing God within, that which all religions and philosophies attempt to convey, yet have failed to articulate as a complete work. In response, this book embodies all elements necessary for you to awaken to the Truth. This Message is so essential that its content will allow your consciousness to fully recognize I AM within and have been all along, guiding and providing for you in all you do. Who am I? I AM Your True Self, the One and only God. Release conditioning that has prevented you from knowing Your Self beyond the illusion of form. Are you ready for the ultimate leap of faith? * "This wise, skillful book presents profound insights that resonate with the non-dual (Advaita) teachings of Ramana Maharshi, Eckhart Tolle, Krishnamurti, and Nisargadatta Maharaj...The Voice heard in this volume is firm, direct, loving, compassionate, and familiar with the suffering of all those who believe themselves to be separate individuals alienated from the Ground of Being. This book is strong medicine and will surely find its way to those searching for authentic awakening." -Dr. Phillip Lucas, Professor of Religious Studies, Stetson University * "This book is a clear inquiry into the true nature of Who You Really Are. The author acknowledges that his one-on-one conversation with the Absolute Self is really a single inner monologue of the One Consciousness. An intelligent presentation of a dialogue with your own Heart and a great addition to your nondual library. Highly recommended!" -Chuck Hillig, Author of Enlightenment for Beginners and The Way IT Is

5.0 out of 5 stars Profound and Fun, February 7, 2009

Penelope Love (Hillsboro Beach, FL) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Be Still and Know I AM God (Paperback)
As someone who has devoted the past several years to heartfelt contemplation of advaita, Zen and spiritual teachings of culturally designated "masters" including Eckhart Tolle, Ramana Maharshi, OSHO, Nisargadatta Maharaj and Ramesh Balsekar, I approached Be Still and Know I AM God with as much curiosity and passion as I did doubt that a book in conversation format would or could deepen the non-dual understanding that All is One. Yet I was drawn to read the book -- I guess you could say I was attracted by its title and the anonymity factor reminiscent of one of the most spiritually significant books in my experience, The Impersonal Life.

A book editor by trade, I used to think that I could predict a book by its format, but in the process of reading Be Still and Know I AM God, that load of arrogance was stripped away. Many layers of the ego that still lurked beneath the surface were revealed -- for me, this book truly assisted in unwinding lifelong-held tension in the areas of money, fear-based concepts about death, and issues about body size -- and I imagine that everyone who is drawn to read this book will experience a unique process and emotional release in the areas of greatest tension for them. Just to share some examples, I thought the body chapter was just for men, but I was wrong. I also laughed a lot during the chapter on conspiracy theories, making a mental list of friends who needed to read that part specifically, until I realized my projection had everything to do with concepts that I myself had agreed to. In the end, I feel lighter for having engaged in the process and just grateful for having attracted this book into my experience, for the loving way it walked me through my deepest fears and pointed me back to my Self.

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of Surprises!, February 23, 2009
This review is from: Be Still and Know I AM God (Paperback)
Loved it! This unassuming, little book was full of surprises-- funny, risky and substantial. A personal and experiential "how to" for those tired of dogma and historical information. While reading it, so often the thought-feeling `that rings true' resonated. Arriving at the later chapters, specifically The Illusion, I observed how my ego wanted to rebel (daydreaming, finding reasons to put the book down, etc.). But then, the I AM would simultaneously center and sum up the moment with a statement like-- "It is time that you acknowledge you have been like a mirage believing it has control over its water." (page 140)

When I was younger, I enjoyed many channeled books (i.e- "Conversations with God"). The possibility that God (Source, Allah, I AM) is speaking to us, clarifying many long held, dare-I-say restrictive, beliefs was just what I needed. But.... knowing I AM is another step, in fact, the final step that leads off the spiritual path into Being. How many of us really know what it means to inquire within? Indeed during the reading of this book, it is `within' that I found my ego, and ultimately.... the ever-present Self. And, I lovingly hope you will, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sublime, Penetrating, Fun, February 24, 2009
This review is from: Be Still and Know I AM God (Paperback)
Wow. When I picked up this book, I immediately felt peaceful. The title says it all, and I am still amazed by just how precise and powerful this book actually is. Although 200 pages, it addresses every relevant issue imaginable point blank, without the fluff, dogma or rhetoric. I find its concentrated content refreshing, as many channeled transmissions tend to be somewhat watered down and often offer to their readers irrelevant facts unrelated to spiritual truths. The explanations are amazingly clear and concise, and its "process" left me feeling refreshed and absorbed in the Truth - utterly still. Just as the book's intention declares in its dedication. Oddly, I felt both content and wanted more. I felt dissected, yet in a strange way, I enjoyed it! I'm in awe - or should I say - still. Wait, no - speechless. There are no words except to say that this book is a spiritual masterpiece.

Make no mistakes, this book had me grasping for survival - wait, who am I? Anyway, all the while I felt the sublime Presence of what I call God carrying me and reassuring me until I realized I Am That. I have read many of the "masters," yet I felt something uniquely comforting here. Something of immense compassion, and I could relate with the channel for humanity's questions on almost every point, feeling their pain and desire for relief, which I found.

One important note: I found the channel of I AM purely Impersonal, which to me is what made this Self-inquiry and nondual message so incredibly potent and transformational. I will read it over and over, visiting it like a warm friend. Read it slowly - there is more here than meets the "I."
