I am immensely fond of David Arkenstone's musical Celtic side. It is there that I believe his genius bursts forth to its finest. "Celtic Book of Days" and "Middle Earth" are wondrous. I purchased this "Be Thou My Vision: Celtic Hymns" CD full of hope for more of Arkenstone's brilliance and have certainly not been disappointed. The musical instruments and female vocals are skillfully woven together with loveliness and blessing. The songs are sung--to you--not at you; and a few of them gather up your spirit. This music is deeply personal.

If you are looking for the Arkenstone of rock or typical new age, this music is different. These are beautiful, expressive hymns that Celtic lovers will savor.

My thoughts to you are to click off the television or the news, place this CD into your player, find your most comfortable chair, and listen while watching the snow fall or the sun set or enjoying the peace of your dog sleeping at your feet. It will delight your heart.

We've truly enjoyed this powerful cd! The artists and the music accompanying them are perfect. I would recommend this to anyone looking for simple and beautiful Celtic hymns.

I bought this CD thinking it would possibly be a continuation of "Celtic Book of Days". It was not. It was truly as the title infers: Celtic Hymns. It's a CD, I would probably trade off. Arkenstone, seems to have run his course and has no new ideas. Maybe it's time for concert tours, David. Lively up your old material through concerts.
