Book Description

To Be A June 4, 2004
To Be A U.S. Air Force Pilot details every step of training for those with the skill and daring to "cross into the blue" as an elite U.S. Air Force pilot. The book traces the growth of aspiring young recruits, starting with grueling physical and mental tests, early flight training on high-tech flight simulators, moving onward and upward until they are finally ready to push the outer envelope to Mach II in state-of-the-art fighter aircraft. Thanks to the highly motivated, highly skilled, and dedicated men and women of the United States Air Force, America enters the uncertain landscape of the 21st century with the most powerful, swift, and flexible military force the world has ever seen.

A great book for anyone interested in becoming a pilot. It tells you all the training you will need to go through and the difficulty of becoming a pilot. It has great pictures too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guide to being an AF Pilot is phenominal, April 5, 2008
This review is from: To Be a U.S. Air Force Pilot (Paperback)
This was another book I gifted my son after his 2011 Class Recognition. He has wanted to become an Air Force pilot his whole life and I figured that he may need a few questions answered occasionally. I bought this book thinking it would be a good read. Little did I know how much information is inside. I really can't decide if the information is as important as the strikingly beautiful photography. I was just as surprised when I read so much in the book about the AF Academy. Much of what my son will do or experience while at the academy is contained in this book too. A wonderful book, make sure you add this one to your son or daughter's library, or buy one for yourself.
