Known as the Shadow Expert, I'm author of the bestsellers Meeting the Shadow and Romancing the Shadow. My next non-fiction book, The Holy Longing, explored religious/spiritual aspiration and its shadow side. I've just published my first novel -- THE MOTH TO THE FLAME -- about the life of Rumi. It's the inside story of how he became a poetic genius and fully illuminated Sufi master.
I'm also a former Esquire columnist, contributor to the LA Times, and executive editor at Jeremy P. Tarcher Publishing. I received a Ph.D. in depth psychology in 1995 and have worked in private practice since then.

5.0 out of 5 stars AN IMPORTANT BOOK FOR OUR TIME, March 3, 2007
This review is from: To Be a Woman (New Consciousness Reader) (Paperback)
This book taught me a lot about the "feminine" and how it has been repressed for centuries. The thing that makes it so mind opening is that the impact of repressing the feminine affects us all, male and female. Each individual author has their unique stance on the subject and is an accomplished author in their own right. I felt empowered by reading this book and I recommend it highly. I am surprised it is not in print because it is so amazing and it has SO much to teach us. In fact it was like having a mini psychology session and I felt I had a healing by reading it.

This review is from: To Be a Woman (New Consciousness Reader) (Paperback)
Great compilations of excellent writers about the conscious femenine. I read a lot of books about the subject. This book its a summary of the role of the femenine in our society. Great work of Connie Zweig.
