"Be Your Own Angel", December 16, 2007
This review is from: Be Your Own Angel...: Snippets for Tough Cookies (Breast Cancer Soldiers) (Paperback)
Even though this is suppose to be a book for newly diagnosed Breast Cancer patients, I would say this is one of the BEST books for the newly diagnosed of any life threatening disease. As an 11 yr. Breast Cancer Survivor, I LOVED IT!!!!! I had actually purchased it to send to a newly diagnosed realtive and while I was at it, I thought I'd get a couple extras in case another friend or relative was diagnosed. When I read the little book, I decided I'd keep one for myself too. It's just SUPER to read. I especially like the terrific illustrations also. The writer has done a WONDERFUL job. I plan to purchase more to have on hand to share. Thank you for allowing me to review this special book.

A wonderful gift for a breast cancer patient in your life, August 20, 2007
This review is from: Be Your Own Angel...: Snippets for Tough Cookies (Breast Cancer Soldiers) (Paperback)
I was diagnosed with breast cancer the day after Christmas 2005. Not a great gift, but one I've learned to deal with. Along the way, I was blessed to have many "angels" in my life, calling, e-mailing information, prayers and words of support. A local angel sent me this book, which I cherished and read several times.
Earlier this year, through my work as a writer, I met a gal who was going through chemo for breast cancer.
I passed along the book to her, with the thought that it was now her mission to pass it along to someone she
meets who is thus afflicted. I'm now replacing my own book and also buying another to pass to a friend who
was diagnosed last week.
This is a simple book, with wonderful little drawings by the author. It is an uplifting, heart-warming and positive message that any cancer patient can take to heart. While providing helpful information, it does so in
a light-hearted style, keeping in mind the author's primary goal: To empower each cancer patient to be pro-active in her treatment and life. And, thus, to be her own angel.
Please be an angel in the life of someone you know, and share this small blessing.
