This is definitely fun, and my brain actually feels good doing it, but I'm the type of person that likes puzzles.

Very difficult but very rewarding when you do solve it.

I am a middle school English teacher, and I brought this puzzles (as well as other Hanayama puzzles) into the classroom to entertain my more hands-on students. They gravitated towards this one and would work doggedly on it. They built up their concentration and would feel so proud when they solved it! It is VERY challenging, but rewarding as well. It is a fairly durable puzzle, but one student did manage to bend the pieces out of shape in his efforts to force a solution. So many kids were disappointed that the puzzle was messed up that another student took the puzzle home, heated it, and reshaped it back to its original form! If nothing else, the puzzle teaches you determination :)

This puzzle has driven him insane; therefore, I am very happy with this product.
He attempted to cheat and find the solution on YouTube!

I got this for my husband for Christmas. It took us a few days of on-and-off play to figure it out. We pretty much have no idea how we did it; we just kept moving stuff around until something changed and we could move forward. It was pretty hard to put back together, too. This is definitely fun, and my brain actually feels good doing it, but I'm the type of person that likes puzzles.

I believe this is the hardest level among these types of puzzles, and I wish there was something harder. I'm not sure I would have enjoyed one at a lower level, so I'm happy I bought this one. I did buy a different type of puzzle for myself: ThinkFun Gordians Knot. Now THAT puzzle is almost impossible. If you want an impossible puzzle, get that one. If you want a puzzle that's hard but still beatable, then get this one. It does make you feel good when you finally solve this puzzle, whereas that other one I got was kind of ridiculous.

The only downside to this puzzle is that the fun ends too soon!

Took a totally of 3 hours for me but about 5+ for my friends. This puzzle is vary difficult because of its organic structure and it having 3 piece's that come completely apart. The manufacturers say its about 25 step to take it about (same to reassemble) but I think its more like 12 steps.

Oh and after you have figured it out you can also assemble it backwards (as long as its completely backwards) and it feels vary different. I tricked some people that had figured it out by doing that and added another hour to their frustrations lol.

This is my favorite puzzle because it can be solved with enough patience, but takes quite a bit of planning and memory to prevent from winding up at the beginning just when you think you have it solved.

We are new to these puzzles - thought they didn't look too hard, so we started with a level 6. Bad idea! Then we jumped down to a level 1 - easy. Made us feel much better that we were actually able to solve one! - hee hee hee. Now working on a level 4, then on to conquer the level 6!

This was my first Hanayama, I was hooked to these things immediately. This is without a doubt the most difficult of all the Hanayama puzzles. It took me a few weeks to take apart, and a few more to put back together. Hint, my mistake was leaving it unassembled for a whil.

This is my third hanayama puzzle, and while it's not as aesthetic is the other two, it's certainly the best for the challenge alone.

Took about 3 and a half hours, and while it could be broken down into many steps, i found that there were two major sticking points...once those are solved the rest is easy. my only complaint is that sometimes you have to force it a little. overall...hats off to the inventor. this is a very complex and unique design.

also, pay attention to how you take it apart....very close attention. this one doesn't go back together easily, but it is cool that if you reverse both pieces when putting them on, the puzzle remains the same but with opposite orientation during the second major sticking point
